[REL] ProMods: Canada v1.2.4 updates and discussion

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Hello, installed the promods canada on 1.39 but the game crashes just before entering canada at the end of seattle. am using great america, montana and mexican maps
any help appriciated. load order is promaps above the GA map order.

Take a look at Load Order - ATS v1.39 Map Combos. I haven't thoroughly tested GA map combo yet, but until now I haven't come across issues.

Man, I'm glad I don't run every map mod there is. Seems like people have issues left and right with load orders. Not to mention the more mods you add, the more there is to keep up with. Canada, SN and PaZz for me. I never have issues if they are all updated to the current version I'm playing on. I'm not saying don't use the others, I'm just saying what I do. To each is own.

I highly recommend everyone to start a new profile for map mods though. Don't sacrifice your main profile and think that you will always be good. Backing up your files helps but multiple profiles is still recommended. Biggest reason? When you are waiting on updates, you can always play your profile that doesn't require waiting on the mod to update.

I play promods canada on my main profile. But I'm smart and don't buy garages, that way it still loads in betas etc. ;)

Thanks it worked.. also i figured i was using scs map improvements map which i think is not compatible with promod.

@amy1423 keep a little patience - the fix for merging SCS map improvements and this great Canada map is almost to come (I just need to do some tests for the fix before its release).
Just a guy from Belarus. So my English are not so good. Sorry about it =)

The map is great! Only last night I got to test test. Great job, as always!

But, as in some high density forrest in SCS map, I have some frame drops.
I tried the Near and Standard def files from the promods site and tried to understand the differences. But somebody has to ELI5 because I still don't get it... :(

These are the only changes? I don't understand exactly what they do.

They change the distance that trees transition to/from their 3d models to their 2d versions, I doubt it has any noticeable difference on framerate really
