[REL] ProMods: Canada v1.2.4 updates and discussion

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Convoy mode crashes randomly all over the place. Make a comment in their forums about it and it was disapproved.

Yea, sorry. Not dealing with them in damage control trying to contain people from talking about the crashing.

Won't ever be using ProMods again.

To play Convoy in ProMods Canada, you need to use another definition file that is specific to Convoy. This one: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/fil ... 2656050373

Tell me something that I already didn't know? Was installed and proper load order.

Random crashing all over the map with myself and 2 others. Silent crash. Nothing in game.log.

Using ProMods on Convoy mode appears to work perfectly fine for some people but cause crashes for other people, we currently don't know why this is the case but are looking into it, however it's a very cryptic error and not something we've ever experienced in the past - your comment was likely disapproved because there have already been multiple reports of this issue on our forum and where possible we try to avoid having multiple topics with the same bug report

ProMods Canada is too good and too promising to flat out give up on so quickly. There's a fix for everything. It just takes time. Convoy might have issues but single player doesn't. I'm having a great time in single campaign. The traffic lights alone with the protected left and yield to the right away combo makes me want to stay in Canada much longer. I wish SCS jumped on board and did this for the US. It makes zero sense to wait a full light cycle when in real life, the roads that have the mentioned light combo actually exist. Its mostly the small towns that don't have this style of light. But protected left only lights in ATS from SCS needs an update. But not all light are combo. There are some major avenues/blvds that only have protected left. SCS would have to check these intersections out one by one. This would save so much time from all the forced waiting we are having to do.

I took a 9 axle lowboy loaded with 60 ton of concrete partitions from Lillooet down to Penticton. Apart from knocking over a few signs the only real trouble I had was taking it into a scenic viewpoint and getting fined for scratching some badly parked Winnebago

Its all in the technique/driving style. Not everyone can handle lcv's or longer trailers like a 53' in tight spaces. That's part of the challenge. If you can't do it, don't take loads ya can't handle in certain areas of the map.

That's why those roads are not regular truck lanes in real life. Can be fun in a game though I guess. Use doubles to go there, they take turns much better LOL

Yeah IRL you'd have to have an escort for a load like that.

The new roads and areas in the 1.1.0 update are really exceptionally beautiful and well done. That being said, driving on those remote mountain roads once again gave me this feeling I had for a long time now about ATS and ETS2, more exactly that they are games devoid of meaningful content or even purpose, to the point I feel they've become just "trundle along and look at the landscape" simulators...
