[REL] ProMods: Canada v1.2.4 updates and discussion

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

If just the download link in the first post is removed, there's nothing to worry about: it's still very easy to find the actual download site by using Google.

I know, I am just suggesting a rewording so that people who don't follow the mod religiously aren't confused

It is the link to the promods download page which kind of violates the new forum rules
The rule was introduced to prevent download links through eg sharemods

Maybe I'm not reading it correct as English is not my native language, but if I read this post and this post, I think that Sharemods is allowed...

Indeed, folks are getting anxious for nothing as SCS won’t exclude any modders. The rules are to prevent abuse and not the publishing of legit stuff. And ProMods is totally beyond any suspicion so IMO to take out the link was too precautious.

I mean technically the link was against the rule as written, but like @Marcello Julio said the moderators are having discussions about how to implement common sense exceptions. ProMods would fit under that umbrella.

Considering ProMods is so huge for SCS, they should be exempt without question. Many people play ATS/ETS2 because of ProMods.

I can say it would hurt me while I dream to drive near Banf National Park, Alberta.

SCS is already moving along where ProMods done before in ETS, but for ATS, ProMods is doing the map that SCS will not touch until 2030' or longer, maybe never. So, ProMods is really precious to me for ATS than ETS.
