[REL] Authentic Road Markings

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

[REL] Authentic Road Markings

Authentic Road Markings is a little side-project that is looking to get the road simulations as realistic as possible. This mod aims at fixing inaccuracies in the road designs in American Truck Simulator as I didn't get the impression that they were of concern by SCS judging by the newest DLCs.

This mod aims at fixing road templates and correcting areas with road layouts, configurations, road line widths/lenghts and curvature that does not portray the locations realistically. I am looking into state-wide MUTCD standards to get the roads as accurate to real-life as possible. I figured since something similar had already happend with the signs, I thought it was time for the same to happen to the roads. You may wonder why this mod is under the map category? I am planning to patch up selected stretches of road that need special care, those are especially locations were a change of the road template is simply not enough to address the irregularities. I might do this in areas that are not prone to a eventual SCS-rebuild. ( I built Yosemite National Park just for it to be later rebuilt by SCS lmao )

What this mod changes:
Currently this mod changes road templates for the roads so you don't have to worry about any conflicting map mods. There are no sector modificiations planned as of yet altough states will be announced.

What is done yet:
I have successfully so far created new templates for the following road types:

PREFAB:
us_cross_1-1_country_t_1-1_country_tmpl

ROAD:
us_1-1_country_1
us_1-1_country_3
us_2_freeway
us_2_freeway_one_way
us_3_freeway_one_way

I will be posting screenshots of examples that include the changes!

The contents of Project West was absorbed into the ProMods project and is defunct. Expect some of the work from PW to carry over onto that when it releases.

Right on. This looks legit. Will there be bumps that we'll feel when driving?

I'm looking into something similar in ATS as you mention in your project, can we coordinate our work?

Omg dude, yes!!! I love this idea. Those pics look very good. I'm also quite well educated on the MUTCD but just don't know how to mod, only maps themselves. But if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
I'm the road sign guy for the:
Team Reforma map for ATS [REL]
Includes a major revamp to the Sierra Nevada region, 60% of Nevada, Pazz mod's areas around Southeast California and southwest Arizona, and many Mexican states!

By bumps do you mean in the road reflectors?
