Mantrid's Large Scale USA (On Hold)

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Before I started on the much loved and much derided Coast to Coast, I intended to re-scale the existing areas as I thought that 1:35 was way too small. I planned to re-scale it to 1:3 (the same as the cities), but before I started I made the experimental C2C map and the original project never started.
I am now ready to start planning the new map (C2C will still be my main priority). I have discussed it with my viewers on Twitch and I even created a test map of part of Washington at 1:3 (it was pretty big). I have had a few requests to make it 1:1, I like the idea even though it would be a monumental undertaking.

What I would like to know is, would you use it and what scale would you prefer?
I like the scale of the vanilla. If the time is not going to flow normally, then other scales seem strange.

Personally, I think 1:1 is a bit over the top. I'd say that 1:3 would be a more achievable goal, and it would still give players longer drives. 1:2 would be easier to calculate distances and time scale. Whatever you want to do is fine with me. I would drive a 1:2/1:3 map in a heartbeat. That sounds like a beast of a map. I'm glad you decided to do the larger map because the Coast to Coast map will shrink over time as SCS heads over to the east coast. I'll be watching this thread with great interest, Mantrid.

I'm still anticipating driving the rest of my life away on this map.

Any rough estimate of current progress?
I've actually been here since 1/5/14. ;)

I wonder, when will it be possible to download Large Scale USA? Will it be also compatible not only with C2C?

@KubaLinBunio No, this map will not be intended to be ran with C2C, or any other map. This is a 1:1 scale map that will be intended to be ran as a standalone map.

Actually it's not decided yet what scale this project will have?

Either way, it will be a larger scale, so will not be compatible with any part of the vanilla map or any ither vanilla map add-on mods.
