SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Well, the thing is mate another modder rob is also making some kind of small-scale map of Alaska . And then you got hawks dalton highway. I mean you carry it on. But I think we need another 1.1 scale map of Alaska and dalton highway because it is something brand new and different. hawkbs seems to have vanished for more than 2 months.

I have to disagree, this map and Dalton don't share the same space just because of its location. Dalton is its own thing with the 1:1 scale. There's also a reason it's one of only two 1:1 projects I know of for ATS. Don't know anything about Rob's mod but I certainly haven't seen anything about it on the forums. What Ivan has so far is excellent and I definitely would love it if he continued. There's part of the community that doesn't need this but there's also part of it that wants it.

We actually now have two map mods of Alaska that are not 1:1. Route Alaska and Alaska Ice Road. I really don't like Alaska Ice Road; it's totally undrivable. So that means we only have Route Alaska. So yeah, I would love if you continue to make this mod.

The Dalton from hawkbs is a totally different mod. It's a 1:1 standalone map. Nothing beats it. But as it requires a different profile anyway, it basically means that we have only your mod to use in our ATS map combo. So please continue your awesome map. :D

Dalton highway is an, autonomy map, it seems to me, this part does not intersect with the default, I cannot interfere there. Alaska with snowy roads, this is not my area, since I make Alaska without snow, I cannot harm them either, because the snow map is not my direction. Another thing is that just need to somehow make sure not to make an overlay on snowy Alaska, so that it would be possible to use both maps. Thanks for the answers, I just had to ask.To all Have a nice day.

You must continue this map, it is the best ATS map out there almost better than Promods. You MUST continue this and I will support you and all my friends. You have very special talent for Alaska scenery :D

@ivanmykyta Yes, you should! I think your map has got a good quality. I totally understand that you want to share your path to expertise with the community and as a "non-expert", I think you are doing a good job. That's why we also included it in our map combo. We keep quality over quantity, in the end. While keeping this principle, more diversity is always welcome :)

I also used Alaska Ice Road map until 1.39 and honestly, I didn't like it since there were many bugs and trucks that are designed for asphalt and terrain hauling on snow didn't seem realistic. On the other hand, I think Rob is more lean on his Australian Outback Map

Ivan, you are a mapping god. Never stop, so beautiful! I dream of you making Dalton Highway from Fairbanks in the future. :P
