SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

[REL] Minor Urban Overhaul (11/09/2020)

This is just something I've been only making for myself for some time, but decided to make public now.

This mod greatly increases traffic density in major urban areas, these areas being defined as the San Diego - Los Angeles corridor, San Francisco bay area, Sacramento, Reno, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, Portland and Seattle; traffic elsewhere is kept to vanilla levels, which I think is realistic enough.
(For compability with traffic spawn mods simply open the mod with a file archiver (7-Zip, WinRAR, ...), open the "def" folder and delete "traffic_data.sii" and "traffic_rules_spawn.sui" inside its "world" folder)

It also includes many changes I've been making trying to portray some places more accurately, these changes detailed below:

•I-5 widened to 2x4 from San Diego to just north of Los Angeles (originally a mix of 2x2 and 2x3)
•I-5 narrowed to 2x2 from Sacramento to Redding (originally 2x3)
•I-10 widened to 2x4 from Los Angeles to Palm Springs (originally 2x3 and 2x2)
•I-10 widened to 2x4 In the Phoenix region (originally 2x3 and 2x2)
•US 101 widened to 2x4 in the Bay Area and near Los Angeles (originally 2x2 and 2x3 respectively)
•I-580 (the California one) widened to 2x4 from the I-5 junction to Richmond (originally 2x2)
•I-80 widened to 2x4 from Richmond to SR37 and 2x3 up to Sacramento (originally 2x2)
•CA-99 widened to 2x3 near Bakersfield and 2x4 in Bakersfield (originally 2x2)
•Signage overhaul in California, including US-101 and I-5 south of San Francisco and I-15.
•Areas near Los Angeles, the SF Bay area and Sacramento more "urbanized"
•Downtown Los Angeles remodeled.

Should be compatible with other map mods as long as you put them in higher priority, I've never tested though.

Known Issues:
•Special transports going through Oakland get stuck and can't be completed.
•Custom building models in Los Angeles lack night lighting and look extremely bright at night.
•Crashes around Reno and Stockton while using Sierra Nevada - please use the compatibility patch linked in this thread.
•Map unloads (fall through ground glitch) in South California while using PazzMod with the compatibility patch - make sure you're using the latest version of the mod.

Looks great! Did u by chance try it with US Expansion? only mod i would think it may conflict with. I'll try it out and see if it works.

Since this mod affects traffic density, is it not compatible with Cipinho’s traffic mod?

Testing it for compatability with US Expansion... It crashed when i travelled to my garage near San Diego. Trying to drive there now but driving from portland xD Might take a while but i've just gone through Redding and about halfway down towards Sacramento with no issues.

Seems to be a conflict with something upon nearing San Diego:

I just ran from San Diego up to Los Angeles. No crashes and the drive was quite nice. No other map mods.

Instead of posting a worthless crash log try posting the complete game.txt.log with pastebin... It will tell what is going on...

Apologies i didn't know crash logs were worthless...

This mod is conflicting with something or is causing some kind of error as this area was fine before installation. Should i mention i'm running on DX11 or is that worthless too?
