good start, two tips. 1: You miss shoulders on some roads. 2: Try to experiment with the brush tool to make the grasses less repetitive
Thank you for the tips!

For the brush, how should I use it? Should I make it change to another grass texture? So far I have only used the brush to remove detail vegetation, I am not sure how to use it properly for visual purposes.

Hi there,

Are you part of C2C?

Unfortunately my work probably won’t be finished until the end of the year at the very least. I’ll see what I’ll do!

You could use a gravel-like texture (e.g. nm_sand_gravel or better wa_sand_gravel) for the roads and brush over them with different grass textures. This will give roads a more natural and less overgrown look.

Very curious to see what you do with New York City. This by itself could be plenty of room to explore for a while. Beautiful work!

Thanks! I am kinda scared of NYC ;) I will spend a day or two making research, see what roads to include etc, and then maybe a week or two building the whole thing. Or three weeks even. NYC will probably be the most important point of my project, I will put the most effort into it, even make a few custom buildings for it, and hopefully it will turn out great :)

Well it's what you want. You have lots of wild grasses and low/high grasses. Just type "or" in the content browser and you find a lot of nice grasses for green areas.

Most of all you should look at scs mapping techniques. Look how they do things and learn from it. That is imo the best way to learn the editor and that's how I did it.
