SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Very long section from Kamloops to Williams Lake where speed limit is supposed to be 80kph/50mph but speed limit is set to 50kph. Creeping very slow on open road with AI traffic doing the same.

Edit: Sorry forgot to add specifics. I only use ProMods Canada, CanaDream, and the ProMods/CanaDream fix.

I'm trying to do what many would deem a "stupid idea"
I have learned how to open map editor, and without mastering current map editing, I am trying to expand Canadream to include a more detailed/complete Newfoundland and Labrador. I would also like to improve NL license plates as the current ones aren't accurate.
I know you (Mantrid) has taken on the responsibility of maintaining Canadream; but NL is more than just Labrador City.
Should I start from scratch and create a new mod for NL for which Canadream is required, or should I expand the current Canadream to include NL. The expansion would tie in to Truro, NS and Labrador City, NL.
I've already roughly determined highway configurations, towns, interactive features and which ATS companies to use for loads.
Thanks for the direction :)

As far as anyone knows ManiaX has been abandoned Canadream, so I don't see any reason you can't modify it to include new content.

Now I just need to learn what the hell to do in order to do just that.
Anyone want to DM me with any resources so I can make this dream a reality, I would be most grateful for it :)

Hello nfld_josh!

:o It would be great if you would take over Canadream. I hope with all my heart that you will learn very well and offer us quality and performance. You can ask either @Mantrid, @PaZz_ and @Digital X to help you. Finally, if they want to, of course!
I have an idea. Create a patreon and I can support you and I'm sure the others will follow. At first glance this map doesn't seem very popular but believe me, I know a lot of people who like Canadream. So I wish you good luck and keep in touch. ;)
Thanks to you! :D

That'll be a problem with the ProMods/CanaDream connection - I'll have to create a new version of it for PM:Canada 1.1.0 once it's released so I'll fix it then

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement, Frenchman.
Right now my main goal is to create a decent quality version of my home province, Newfoundland and Labrador. I have never done anything like this before, so I am literally figuring it out as I go. I know roughly what I want NL to include, but have no idea how to execute it. The very first thing I need to figure out is if I should join on to the existing Canadream (as right now it ends at Truro, NS and Labrador City, NL) or if I should start from scratch and make a whole new map of just eastern NS and NL combined as a standalone mod that requires Canadream to run. I wouldn't even consider modifying Canadream if it weren't abandoned by its caretaker right now. I'm not going to bother with any Patreon stuff as I'm not in it to make money; I just want to pick up a load of cars in Halifax and drop them off in St. John's with Signal Hill in the background, then take a load of groceries to Churchill Falls in Labrador (with two ferry links to the Island of course ;) )
I have set up the Map Editor and have been playing with it, trying to figure out how to make changes, edits, etc. and because I'm not very tech savvy, that has been very challenging. Half the time I can't figure out a load order lol
I've been watching Raul (Reforma) on YouTube a bit and found some online instruction documents but they all seem to apply to pre-existing map sectors. The first thing I need to do is figure out how to add map sectors that are located in NL and Cape Breton island before I can add any features.
One thing about it is I have travelled the Happy Province extensively and know the country and features quite well, so that combined with a good GIS based base map layer and I should be able to make something nice.
Any and all assistance greatly appreciated!
