SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

[REL][WIP] Project MidAtlantic 0.4.1

#1 Post by JustJames » 01 Apr 2021 23:51

Hello everybody.

I am proud to announce Project: Mid-Atlantic to the forums! Project Mid-Atlantic is a map mod that will redo the entirety of the Mid-Atlantic region in C2C. The mod will cover Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia. I do not copy and paste I make sure that everything is originally designed and is never copied and pasted. Currently we do not any custom assets but I plan on learning how to do them at a later date. I also listen to all the feedback the public gives. If you hate a certain area and thinks its the worse area in the world I will redo it, but please give constructive criticism and point out whats wrong.

Here is my roadmap.

Looks like a potentially impressive map addon for coast to coast

Just an FYI: Interstate 95 doesn't go that far south in New Jersey. Traveling southbound, it leaves the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 6, crosses the Delaware River, then proceeds toward Philadelphia.

Yeah the roadmaps are kinda old from November. Don't worry one of the developers for the project is from New Jersey I'm sure he will keep me in the right direction for NJ :D

I second the idea of the Bay-Bridge Tunnel. It looks like the Bay Bridge on US-50 is already planned which is gonna be awesome either way!

Also, if you plan on expanding on Maryland in the future then Gaithersburg would be a cool city to add in. It has an industrial park in the Shady Grove area by the MoCo Airpark that would be good for jobs. There's even a spot at the end of Rickenbacker Dr that would be perfect for a garage that I'm totally not biased towards in some way..

The Bay Bridge and Tunnel would be absolutely lovely, I spent a short stint living/stationed at Fort Monroe and crossed over several times to get away from base and look for new spots to fish when I was there. With all of the military activities in the area around Hampton Roads to Norfolk, plenty of places that can receive jet engines, work boats, and heavy equipment if freight could be controlled. I look forward to this.

You absolutely need to add Dublin, VA to this. It's the home of Volvo Trucks' New River Valley Assembly Plant. All Volvo trucks sold in North America are built there.

"The 1.6-million-square-foot New River Valley assembly plant, located on nearly 300 acres in Dublin, Virginia, is the largest Volvo truck manufacturing facility in the world. The plant is certified under the ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental, and ISO 50001 energy standards. The New River Valley plant produces all Volvo trucks sold in North America, including the VNM, VNL, VNX, VHD and VAH models."
