Hello everyone, I am proud to announce my map project for American Truck Simulator, Project Better Arizona! Project Better Arizona is a project that aims to improve and add to Arizona in American Truck Simulator. I plan to work on improving existing parts of Arizona such as Phoenix, Tucson, and Kingman and add some new cities to the state as well. Cities that I plan to add are Gila Bend, Payson, Prescott, Casa Grande, and more! I would love to hear suggestions for the project as well as constructive feedback on the project so I can improve my work.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, you can post them below or join the project's Discord server: https://discord.gg/YPVX3BvMJb

CHANGELOG
0.5.1 for ATS 1.59
- Compatibility with ATS 1.59 & Reforma 2.9.8
- Fixed Phoenix-style traffic lights appearing at intersections outside of Phoenix, like in Quartzsite and Eloy
- Fixed floating signs on AZ 89A in Prescott Valley and added a guardrail in front of the westbound frontage road wall
- Fixed a small terrain gap on I-10 in Phoenix
0.5.0.1 for ATS 1.58
- Sporadic crashes in Phoenix should be resolved now in the Reforma Connection
- Removed invisible walls on US 60 east of I-10 and added a cable barrier in the median
- Fixed broken terrain at Florence Blvd & Mission Pkwy in Casa Grande
0.5 for ATS 1.58:
ATS 1.58 & Reforma 2.9.7 compatibility
- Merged my Camp Verde with the east side of the new SCS Camp Verde along the Verde River (this also replaced the old winery prefab with a new winery across the street)
- Made some vegetation improvements to the area around the I-17/SR 260 interchange
- Modified route of I-17 north of Camp Verde to connect to the new SCS I-17
- Slightly modified route of US 93 north of SR 89 to connect to the new SCS US 93 (you may have to rediscover roads in the area due to how map sectors had to be merged)
- Replaced all welcome signs in newly remodeled parts of the map with their real versions
- Replaced all garages with new garage models
Implemented phase 1 of Phoenix improvements
- Reworked I-10 between I-17 and Casa Grande
- Reworked US 60 (future Loop 202) from I-10 to the Salt River
- Reworked the area near Sky Harbor Airport and added 2 new companies to deliver to
- Temporarily closed SR 51 until its rework is complete
- New route for Special Transport missions from Sky Harbor Airport
Other fixes
- Special Transport missions from Sky Harbor Airport should now have full compatibility (no more props in the middle of I-10 in Casa Grande)
- Increased the speed limit on I-17 in Phoenix from 55 to 65 to reflect recent real life changes
- Fixed certain roads not being discoverable and items that should not be on the map from appearing on the map

There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Screenshots look awesome!
Quick suggestion. Southwestern Arizona is perfect right now with the Reforma (preciously Pazz) Mod. Hopefully your project will be compatible so they can both be used at the same time.
Thank you for all your hard work

Yes, I don't plan on touching the areas that Reforma have done in Arizona and I do plan on having it be compatible as I also really enjoy using it.wcwood92 wrote: 31 May 2021 19:23 Screenshots look awesome!

I have created a Trello to show my plans and progress for the mod. Currently, everything confirmed on the Trello is what I plan on adding, however, things are subject to change. Here's the link: https://trello.com/b/nxSNphjh/project-better-arizona

Awesome. I always felt that Arizona was lacking in this game.

Re: [WIP] Project Better Arizona
I'm happy to announce that the first public release of Better Arizona will be coming this month! The main addition with this release is the town of Gila Bend and I've also done some minor edits to Interstate 17 in Phoenix. I know that this initial release may seem small, but I plan to add more with each major update. (I've updated the Trello to show my plans for each big update)
