[REL] Smarty's Wheel Pack [v1.9 - 08/10/2023]

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Hi!
@Smarty Can you add painted half chrome rims to the pack, too?

Hey Smarty, do you plan to add Dayton rims to your pack?
Re: [REL] Smarty's Wheel Pack [v1.6 - 20/03/2021]
Does Smarty have plans to make this mod work with the default SCS Tyres?
Re: [REL] Smarty's Wheel Pack [v1.6 - 20/03/2021]
Nope. 90% of my motivation for making this pack in the first place was that certain critical dimensions of SCS' wheels and tires are incorrect, which gives them a kind of 'uncanny valley' appearance. This is especially pronounced as the base game vehicle models are getting more and more true to their real world counterparts; Something just doesn't quite look right.
Most notably, SCS is using a bead seat width of about 9.75", when 11R22.5 and most low profile 22.5 tires mount on 8.25x22.5 rims. This means that the section profile of their tires is much flatter/blockier. This has the advantage of making it less noticeable that the inner edge rings use fewer vertices. This means that SCS can get away with a tire model with just ~400 triangles, whereas I use about 1040. SCS have their priorities: aggressive optimization to support a vast array of hardware. My priority is similar, just with some concessions to better capture some nuanced, but critical dimensions that stand out to most people who spend a lot of time in/around trucks.
I could remodel the default SCS tires to fit my rims but if I'm going to the trouble of making tire models, I may as well do real world tires ...which is what I've done.

@Smarty do you plan any more types of rims?
Re: [REL] Smarty's Wheel Pack [v1.6 - 20/03/2021]
On SCS trailers, and even modded trailers, the steerable super single tracks are way too wide and stick out far out of the trailer edges, and don't sit parallel to the non-steerable tires.

The only trailer that doesn't have this problem is your Alutrec flatbed.
It would also be nice to have the 385/55/R22.5 tire added into the mod for SPIF configurations, and also longer oil hub caps for the steer axles like below:

They're really only intended for the Alutrec, or any trailer that's explicitly set up with SPIF axle configurations as the wheel locators need to be at narrower centers for them to behave correctly and still use standard hubs and nuts.

Your wheel pack is a must have. Thank you for keeping it up to date.

Hi. Thanks for this great mod. I just have a question, is it normal that rear alcoa 22.5x8.25 chrome rims doesn't has reflection as much front alcoa 22.5x8.25 as or there is nothing wrong with it and should I see a ophthalmologist.
