While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

[REL - W.I.P.] Signs On Your Truck & Trailer

#1 Post by tobrago » 09 Jan 2021 21:27

Hello everyone!

I started with the creation of a mod for American Truck Simulator. I started with a Volvo truck as seen in the picture. I would ask you for advice and if you can show pictures with examples of what it looks like. Thank you for your cooperation and advice and support.

The two signs most US trucks have are both on the side, Certified Clean Air and IFTA stickers. The Interior Reworks mod here adds those to the VNL and Paccar trucks - you could add similar ones to the modern trucks.

I think this topic will help you in the creation of the ATS version.

@oscu0 Thank you so much for the tips. I would ask you if you can post a link to pictures where I can see examples. I tried to find pictures on the internet but it was unsuccessful.

EDIT:
@Louis trucker 33 Thank you for the link.

@tobrago if you go to the first of the topic you have the most stickers (if not all of them)

@Louis trucker 33 I looked at all the posts there are interesting pics, but unfortunately there are also broken links, too bad. We go slowly with further searches. ;)

@poozykrem For now, I can't promise anything. You know that consent with the authors of modified trucks is required.

Note that both have customization - CCA has a place for an engine manufacturer logo, I'll write a tentative list of those, and IFTA has year and state. I've seen trucks with multiple IFTA stickers, so there should be a couple of slots for it.

All of these are in the game:
Cummins
Caterpillar
Detroit Diesel
Volvo
Mack
Paccar

These might one day be, might as well:
Duramax
International

@oscu0 Thank you very much for the examples where stickers are placed on trucks. I’m interested in where the ADR signs are placed and as from my picture of Volvo in the first post.
