[REL] Separate state Highway Patrol and city police cars

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check chapters [4] and [5] of Forum Rules.

Yeah, that's easy to do. On the steam launcher: Right click and select properties, click on "set launch options" on the general tab. Then the little window pops up, type in

Code: Select all

-conversion_dump_path "<folder path of your choice>"
My example for this is -conversion_dump_path "E:\Downloads\converted mods\ATS"

ok quick question about that ^best would be only to have that mod enabled to prevent getting lost in the conversions that have nothing to do with the mod?

Yes, it would be best to do this with only one mod enabled at a time. When the game converts the model, it places it in the exact same folders as what's in the mod.

For example, in Keeper's mod archive: /vehicle/ai/taurus_police/ai.pmg
In the converted mods folder: <folder path>/vehicle/ai/taurus_police/ai.pmg

One of the more annoying things is that many trailers use the same model for flares. Some won't convert because oddly it doesn't use them, but a different trailer higher in the load order does. So you'll see the game converting a flare model while you're driving (or checking the trailer browser), and you'll have to hunt down which trailer is using that model.

ok then i guessed right and have the files converted and inserted in the mod/replaced the ones from the mod

Ah, I see. That indeed was easy. Just fly around a bit in the console, and there they are. Mod is updated -- both standalone and Workshop versions -- with converted models to remove the console warnings.

Something SCS Software left out whilst developing ATS was the police car skins, and this mod fixes that. Thanks :D

The standalone version has had an update which should suppress the mod's California, Nevada and Arizona police from spawning in areas outside of default map boundaries. Those who use the standalone version as well as any combination of Coast-to-Coast, CanaDream and VivaMexico, please test and verify that only default police now spawn outside of California, Nevada and Arizona. If successful, I'll update the Workshop version also.
