What's up everyone,
I own a lot of trucking games from SCS, including Euro Truck Simulator 1. I bought the game around 2014, and by that time I didn't know there was a Steam version of ETS1.
So I bought the digital version, non-Steam.
However, nowadays I have Steam and I wanted to know if there's any method for me to provide my key to SCS and they convert it into a Steam version.
Thanks bros,

If you have your original key then simply use it in Steam, it should work.
If you no longer have your key you will have to buy a new one. Since ETS1 is dirt cheap 79p there's no reason not to just buy it again on steam.

I just opened my old boxed ETS 1, there was no key. And the game doesn't ask for one during installation. So there is nothing which could be converted to Steam.
Right now, I saw ETS 1 on Steam for a whopping 99 euro-cent.

If it never had a key then I guess Steam purchase is the only option then.

Yes. I've got the German version. If other distributors issued keys of course I couldn't know. There where a lot of different local versions / distributors.
But even then, I doubt that such a key by a distributor would be accepted by Steam. No agreement for that.

What's up bros,
First of all, thanks for the lightning-speed replies. I couldn't imagine I'd have a response for a 12-year old game that quick. You're amazing.
Yeah I just tried to enter my key on Steam but unfortunately, it didn't work. Just for you to confirm, I bought the game from the official ETS1 site:
https://eurotrucksimulator.com/
the serial looks like this:
0LORG8-******-******-******-******
Can you confirm if Steam accepts this format of serial? And if it accepts games bought from this website?
Thanks bros,
Love,
Dudu Moura Exetrize

Re: Transfer regular Euro Truck to Steam version
All discussions I ever followed, in regard of redeeming a key which is no original Steam key, were exclusively about ETS 2.
To make this possible, Steam would have to get a list or range of appropriate keys from SCS. That happened for early disks of ETS 2. But after some years, Steam has terminated this special offer.
I don't remember if this also applied for download versions from the SCS server, then. But I doubt this was possible, ever, for any other SCS game except ETS 2.
