SCR Modding Livestreams [Next: April 10]

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check chapters [4] and [5] of Forum Rules.

SCR Modding Livestreams [Next: April 10]

#1 Post by Smarty » 23 Mar 2020 20:49

I've started doing something new and scary – modding livestreams. Each month, I'll be streaming my various modding antics on Twitch. I'm still working out the general format, but it's generally focused around modding education, with open Q&A. :)

Next stream: Friday, April 10 @ 7:30PM EDT (Toronto time)
Topic: Continuing the Fruehauf Z-Van

I'm also considering increasing the frequency of these streams, and staggering times for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic measures. No concrete plans yet, but I'd definitely appreciate any feedback. Keep calm and make mods™.

I like the idea and 2pm edt is not a bad time for me. Open Q&A is fine but I would rather watch you working on an actual mod. Of course this can be done at the same time I guess - honestly I don't expect a lot of questions, but maybe I'm wrong ;)

I had a slightly more formal Q&A in the first stream, last month. And yes, there weren't a huge number of questions. The overall format moving forward will generally be me working, with commentary (probably less than the first stream), and with questions being welcomed/encouraged.

I guess transcript of the Q&A is out of the question?

I'll be running the next stream on Friday at 7:30PM, continuing the Fruehauf Z-Van that was started in the previous stream.

dont know if this was a mistake last time but streaming it in 1080p or at least 720p would be nice

also a good idea would be the use of Screencast, so people can see what key combos you use

The stream resolution is an unfortunate limitation of my internet connection. Welcome to rural Ontario and cable internet. My download speed isn't too bad (almost 15 Mbps), but I can only rely on about 0.5-0.6 Mbps up over long periods.

I'll definitely give Screencast a try though.
