Re: Realistic Rain v3.8.2 for 1.40 [Update 31 March - 2021]

#121 Post by Darkcaptain » 31 Mar 2021 13:44

New update, v3.8.2:
- Fixed spray/particles of the wheels when used in OpenGL
- Support for the latest versions of Sound Fixes Pack by Drive Safely (Thanks mate!)
- Minor changes in the behavior of the raindrops

The FMOD project has been completely redone to add SFP compatibility, please give me feedback if the sound level is adjusted correctly or a specific sound needs to be increased/decreased in sound level ;)
Download Link on the first post.

The Steam Workshop version was also updated.

Re: Realistic Rain v3.9 for 1.40 [Update 10 April - 2021]

#123 Post by Darkcaptain » 09 Apr 2021 22:56

New version available:
Changelog v3.9:

- The number of raindrops on the windows has been slightly reduced
- Slight changes in the behavior of the raindrops
- FMOD: The sound of rain falling in the cabin has been improved (sound level, better transition for different intensities...)
- FMOD: Some improvements in thunder sounds (sound level, better fading effect, added some new sample...)
Any comments or suggestions are always welcome ;)

I would greatly appreciate a video of this Mod in ATS (for ETS2 there are many  )

I would be willing to make the video. However why reduce the number of drops? Personally I feel more would be better.

PXM Twizt3d: Well, it is misleading, I modified some parameters that have to do with the angle of the drops in the windows (reducing the angle), but at the same time I increased the number of drops in the most important parameter, so more or less must be the same, but overall the visibility is better (the drops do not mix with each other).

But, if you want to increase the number of drops in the windows it is very easy, open the file with notepad '\def\vehicle\interior_glass_config.sii' And it increases the value "drop_count_per_meter: 10000" by a higher value, like 15000 for example.

Generally, most users do not like not having visibility in the windows.

If you make a video for ATS, showing the features of the mod (raindrops, particles/spray, sounds, thunders...) I will be grateful and I would place video it in the first post and in the Steam Workshop (with your permission) ;)

10-4 sounds good. I've been meaning to make a vid on ATS for a while to be honest, Originally planned to be similar to jeff favignano's vids but could do a feature showcase first with no voice just to help showoff the rain in game :)

Question: Is this compatible with Grimes' Spring Weather mod?

@RunnyPilot Yes, it should work, but be aware that some Grimes Mods disable thunders or reduce the intensity of the rain.

New version available:
v3.9.1

Some adjustments to the behavior of the raindrops for the interior of the cabin have been modified for greater realism and fluidity:

- Transformation time, shape of the raindrops, speed of the raindrops when moving the windshield...
- Visibility of raindrops ("outside" rain) was very slightly increased
- Made some minor adjustment to the sound of rain from the cabin
Enjoy

Darkcaptain, is there a way possible to add RainX to the windshield as in real life so the wipers aren't needed unless it's a real heavy rain or a downpour? It would be a nice addition if possible.
