Real Engines and Sounds with Engine Editor App

Howdy truckers! Today I present you a mod that I have created and uploaded on the ATS workshop, as well as a desktop application to create and edit engines, transmissions and sounds. This mod so far has reached #5 on the top rated mods of all time on the workshop and is the #2 most subscribed mod for ATS. I wanted to ensure that those who have never used the workshop before have a chance to check it out this mod.

Mod Info:

Real Engines and Sounds adds new engines to each of the SCS trucks in game (579, t680, and the w900). These engines are replicated from real life engines, and contain real horsepower and torque ratings. A lot of research went into these engines to ensure that the numbers behind each engine are correct. All the included engines use Kriechbaums engine sounds, for added realism.

In total, I have added 10 new engines (6 Cummins ISX, and 4 Paccar Mx-13) engines to the Peterbilt 579 and Kenworth t680, as well as many classic engines such as the C15, N14, and 3406e engines (for a total of 19) to the w900. Each engine series has its own personality and custom sounds (credits to Kriechbaum).

Desktop Application:

I have also created a program that allows you to easily create and modify engines and transmissions, as well as change the engine/transmission list for any truck in the game (including mod trucks). You are not required to use my mod in order to use the engine editor. The Engine Editor App no longer requires ATS or a steam installation to use, and can now be used for ETS 2. Since the default data is all ATS data, you will have to manually enter ETS2 data if you wish to use this program for that game.

Yes, since this is a workshop mod, I assume you need to use the Steam version as well.

EDIT: Steam nor my mod is required to use this program now.

The steam version I'm pretty sure is the workshop mod.

With the newest update to 2.1.0, the Engine Editor App no longer requires ATS or a steam installation to use. This can now be used for ETS 2, but all data must be entered in manually.

This is amazing work man! It looks awesome!
A request: Would it be possible to add an option to import already created files that you would than edit? Preferably with an option to import whole */engine folder.
Also an option to add our own sound packages would be nice.
This has everything to do with use for ETS2.

You can import sounds already, check out my tutorial video on that -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7BdpeghLvU

As for importing engine files, that is pretty complicated. I had started work on making an SII file parser, but never finished it. If I can get back to it and get it finished, then yes I will certainly add an option where you can import engines files directly. Until then though, you will have to enter the engines manually.

I should also make note that the Editor has been updated a few times since this post was made, we are now on version 2.1.2 and can be found on the Steam discussion page located in the main post.

Thank you for the video, it makes everything crystal clear!

I hope you do get around to finishing it, since it would make updating and managing engine mods a piece of cake!
Also if I can be so bold and make another request, would it be possible to make a feature to switch between metric and imperial units?
