Looking for a higher top speed for your truck? Look no further!
With this mod the maximum speed is 200+ mph (or 100+ mph with heavy cargo trailer).

This mod contains altered versions of:
  • CHASSIS: kerb weight doubled for stability purposes;
  • ENGINE: torque changed to 10088Nm;
  • TRANSMISSION: gears changed to 30-speed.
Also the rpm values are slightly changed.

IMPORTANT
In order for this to work, you must select:
ENGINE:
VT HPE High Power Engine
TRANSMISSION: VT HPE Transmission

IMPORTANT
At very low and very high speed the truck acts slippery, especially at corners and bumps in the road.
So be aware! Or use my No Damage for ATS v1.38 mod.

Tested with:
Both the cheapest and the most expensive version of the default SCS trucks.

Version History:
v1.34: Initial version.
v1.35: Doubled kerb weight of chassis for better drivability.
v1.38 Mack Anthem: For Mack Anthem.
v1.38: For all official SCS trucks.
v1.38.1: Maximum speed of escort vehicles (Oversize DLC) is 100 mph (but will be slower due to traffic rules).

Not yet. But if there is demand, I will make something similar for ETS2. I've already a high power engine for the Volvo FH12 2012, although it doesn't work the same way as the high power engine in ATS. Other trucks in ETS2 don't have a high power engine. Yet...

High Power Engine for ATS Mack Anthem v1.38 uploaded. Forget the instructions of the v1.35 version: read the description/instructions inside the ATS Mack Anthem v1.38 mod (or read those in the mod manager).

Due to the High Power Engine it is possible to drive fast with oversize cargo. Therefore escort vehicles (Oversize DLC) now have a higher maximum speed, about 100 mph. Also the distance between the escort vehicles and your truck has been increased.

N.B. The escort vehicles will still obey the traffic rules, so in reality they will drive not that fast. I'm thinking about an optional no escort vehicle mod to get rid of those escort vehicles entirely.

N.B. Despite the maximum speed of a particular road may be 70 mph, it's possible that the front escort car will drive slower than 70 mph. Let's say 60 mph. Also despite having increased the minimum distance between ecort vehicle and your truck it's still possible that the front escort car will slow down, and thus decrease the distance between the escort vehicle and your truck.

I don't know what's the reason for that. Maybe someone else has an explanation for this behaviour?
To increase the distance I've changed both the minimum and maximum distance by changing:
- lod_dist[]: 53
- lod_dist[]: 70
to:
- lod_dist[]: 253
- lod_dist[]: 700
Well, I suppose that lod_dist[] is indeed a variable for determining the distance between the escort vehicle and your truck, as I could not find any information about lod_dist[]. And I also could not find any other information in the Oversize DLC where I could set a minimum and maximum distance. So I guessed the distance should be set by lod_dist[].
