[REL] Truck Camera Distance for ATS v2021.12.16

Truck Camera Distance for ATS v2021.12.16

This package contains the Truck Camera Distance for ATS v2021.12.16 mod.

When you drive without a trailer attached, the distance of the outside
camera behind the truck is too short. As a result scenery far away is
difficult to see. With this mod the camera is put at a greater distance
behind the truck.

Version History:
v1.00: Initial version.
v1.35: Truck camera distance for trucks with trailer attached is now the same as the camera distance without trailer attached.
v1.38: Stereo_convergence deleted. Extention .sii changed to .sui
v1.38.1: Top view camera adjusted, so it is easier to manoeuver with long and/or oversized trailers.
v1.38.2: Bumber camera height adjusted; it's now located at eye level, just above the hood of the nose of the truck.
v1.38.3: Maximum camera distance and distance change speed increased.
v1.40: Compatible with ATS 1.40 and Caribbean Island Map 1.1.
v2021.12.16: Version number changed.

may you add more distance top view (press key "3") to this mod?
this should help in some precise turn for long trailer.

About this top view: it is possible to add more camera distance in different ways:

1) I could just move the camera up. The camera will move backwards if you reverse your truck, as this is default. Or:
2) I could move the camera up, and at the same time lock the camera, so it will not move backwards anymore when you reverse your truck. The camera position should be locked in the center of the truck/trailer combo.

I don't know which option you prefer, but I think I will give the second option a try. I will make a seperate mod of it, because not everyone might want the camera be locked when reversing.

I've just uploaded the v1.38.1 version of the Truck Camera Distance mod. This new version has an adjusted Top View camera position, so it is easier to manoeuver with long and/or oversized trailers.
As not everyone might like this new top view camera position I decided to keep the v1.38 version published as well.
I also decided not to make a new mod for just the top view camera position; this way it is easier for me to maintain the mod and keep it up-to-date.
In the future I might even decide not to maintain the v1.38 version anymore; personally I don't like the default top view camera position at all.
With the adjusted top view camera position it's just way easier to manoeuver:

This is very helpful with Idaho DLC.
There are many narrow road, tight hairpin and park car@truck blocking.

Thanks for this Vinnie, i put a few days ago a birds eye view request in the help/request topic.
And now I have found it in your mod.
An idea or wish is to make the camera place higher of camera 6 on the keyboard.
I think its the bumper camera but bring it up to the hood of the nose of the trucks.

I started playing the new version of ATS and found that my favorite mod does not work on it, without which I cannot imagine a normal game. It flies off long distances (though I wanted it to be even more, as before, up to several kilometers, it was possible to quickly fly off and quickly return. As I had before.). Author, could you do the same here? And in order to return faster, otherwise with such smoothness (especially if you "flew" for 2-3 kilometers, until you return to the cabin at such a speed, you will have an accident 10 times. In a normal similar fashion, I remember, the speed was regulated by the mouse wheel By the way. Well, in the direction of this camera. Maybe I misunderstood something? Here through the translator I read from English. Please make one universal good mod. So that at any distance up to several colometers you can fly in any direction and quickly return. I hope I explained it clearly. Thank you for your attention!
