[REL] Daniels ATS Random Events

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

I assume this is working well in 1.42 without any major problems and does it make a difference where it is located in the the Mods Manager ? Thanks for all the hard work and time put into this . Going to load it up and give it a try . Excellent addition to ATS !

@Crusader Should be working fine with no problems in 1.42 and 1.43. I haven't experienced any problems myself and am not aware of any problems from anyone else so far.

@fedeg_1 Should not make a difference where it is in the mod manager.

Is there any way I can edit this mod to work with traffic mods? I don't understand how it breaks in ATS, when I have similar traffic spawn mods in ETS2 and there the random events mod spawns proper vehicles.

Specifically this error:
03:12:58.471 : <ERROR> [traffic] Error finding a suitable traffic_trailer data variant of type 'truck_semi' (custom filter)
03:12:58.471 : <ERROR> [traffic] Error parsing trailer chain - unable to find a suitable trailer data variant for 'box'
03:12:58.471 : <ERROR> [parked_vehicle] "No suitable trailer model found!"

I definitely have truck_semi type trailers being loaded in my profile.

@erbkaiser Can you give me some more information on this issue? Do you get these errors in vanilla + my mod or only with my mod + other mods? If only with my mod + other mods do you know the exact mod + my mod that is causing these errors? Do the errors occur straight away or only at a certain point in the game e.g. when passing one of the events? If so do you know which event or have a screenshot?

Hi dan,

I'm getting the error only if I use your mod together with a traffic mod like cipinho's RTD ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1213282672 ) or Brutal Traffic.

It does not occur without a traffic mod. It also doesn't occur in the ETS2 version with traffic mod. I also don't get missing vehicles if I do not use your random events mod but do use a traffic mod.

What happens with your mod together with a traffic mod is that a random event is spawned but there are no vehicles, so I just see the markers and people, and effects like smoke or water spray.
At the same time I see errors about the missing truck_semi variant 'box' in the log.

I assume it is trying to load a vehicle traffic.box but somehow can't find it. Traffic.box is not referenced anywhere in the files for the RTD mod.

I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be a truck there.

The crashed vehicle and (I assume) fire truck aren't there, but the firemen and smoke effects are.

I'm using the current release version 1.42.1.11, but this is not new to 1.42.

I am only getting this with traffic mods, of which I tested Cipinho's RTD, the Proper AI Traffic Mod by DW1889, Brutal Traffic by Kass. I normally play with RTD.
Load order doesn't seem to make a difference, I'm getting the missing vehicles in the events if I load your Random Events mod before any traffic mod and AI traffic packs as well as when I have Random Events near the top of my load order.
