The GPS will Always route the "small beach way" in Oxnard, not the main road.
The GPS should be routing as the "1" waypoint indicator shows in the screenshot, not otherwise:

Here the GPS wants me to "turn to the left", but I want to "stay" on the amin road:

The problem is GPS Always show the shortest route, not the most natural...

Re: Wrong GPS routing in Oxnard beween "Sell Goods" and "Bit
Remember you can use check points if you want a different route.
The reason the GPS does that is because the small route is actually shorter and the game is set to pick the shortest route between two points.
edit: I've added it as feedback to the QA [0023830]

And something else, in SCS current games the shorter route doesn't mean always the fastest one. Keep that in mind and happy trucking.

That is 100% true, in ETS I use to find routes that minus up to 20 minutes from your journey.

That is because in terms of road length the beach road is shorter than the main road. It may be just 10 meters shorter and for that the GPS will always send you at the beach road.roggek wrote:The GPS will Always route the "small beach way" in Oxnard, not the main road.
I for one like that I'm being sent to drive on the beach road - it's a challenging road, altough not challenging enough.

Just encountered this today. Also, the trailer I was hauling was unusually long. Made for an "interesting" trip and I had to sacrifice a few roadsigns for the greater good.
It's somewhat realistic and teaches you not to always blindly trust the GPS. On the other hand, most modern real-life GPS:s have options for "shortest" and "fastest" routes. This should be an option in the game too - there are a few other cases where the GPS routes you off the main highway even though it's faster than the side roads. Hitting ESC and looking at the world map breaks the immersion somewhat.
