SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: [WIP] Peterbilt 350
is the mod alive?
Re: [WIP] Peterbilt 350
Sure it is. You might've noticed that Smarty isn't posting the progress here too often if you read this thread.
Though a little peek at the current state of the mod would be great. :p

Hi Smarty. Beautiful Pete. Here is some facts based on RL. Gramps owned a 351 traded it for a 358. Purchased an old PIE 351 out of moth balls. My first truck. Had a single axel rear end 195 inch wheel base. Engine 318 Detroit 6-V 71, 6 inch straight stacks. Gramps had a 1673 T.A. Cat in his 351 & 358 with a 5 & 4 split boxes..Smarty wrote: ↑09 Oct 2017 21:36 I futzed around with getting this in-game last night. There's not a whole lot new with the visible geometry, but I got a lot of housekeeping done within my files, which is usually good.

I've whittled down the options to 170" and 192" wheelbases, with the latter supporting a handful of sleeper options and dual exhaust. I'm leaning towards keeping this truck relatively light/simple for cabin/chassis options in the interest of finishing it this year.
With 196 inch WB can put a married 4 x 4 boxes or a 10 speed in it is fine with a Cummins 210 or 220, 6-V 71 318 Detroit. A Cat 1673 TA produced to much HP 275 easy turn to 300 H.P.. A 1673 Cat would Twist the single shaft thru shaft in a 4 x4 married boxes or split. In order to fit a 5 & 4 the truck must have a minimum 220 inch W.B.. Stretched the frame on the 351 to 220 inch W.B..Added a tag axel and put a Dana 5 & 4 in it. Built the drive train suspension out of solid rubber blocks.
The difference between a 351 & a 358 the 358 had a tilt hood. About 500 built by Pete. Special order "Only". There is one in the Pete Museum.
The Pete is really looking Great. Thank you for all the mods you have developed over the years.
Have A Great Day...

Love to hear the history of the old iron from people that ACTUALLY drove them...or at least were around when they were driven. I'm no spring chicken myself, my childhood was filled with the good ol' Jimmy's rattling windows everywhere....what a glorious time
Re: [WIP] Peterbilt 350
I've been spending some time on this truck over the last week doing cab/chassis detailing, starting an SLDD axle set, and starting the interior/animations...
