Re: [WIP] GMC General
Mid-production was what I meant under Phase II, lol. Thanks for the correction and a sneak peek!Smarty wrote: ↑24 Jun 2020 20:46 Slight correction: I'm currently working on Phase I (mid-production ~1981-1983ish). Phase II will be early production options (1977-1980ish), which should hopefully include the standup sleeper. The main truck in the film was around a 1978 model (the battery box is a dead giveaway). Phase III will be late production (1984-1987), which will have the 34" and 60" flat tops, set back axle, and 24" aluminum tank options. I wouldn't expect Phase III very soon, but Phase II should be relatively easy. I have the final body builder reference book that I needed for that (Chevrolet 1977).

@Fawls Thank you! I posted a couple more pics in the “show your Freightliner” media thread.
Re: [WIP] GMC General
Has anyone heard any more from Smarty on the advancements of the phase I release of this mod? looks like a lot of fun and I've been looking forward to its release.
Re: [WIP] GMC General
I hope he does a standup walk-in sleeper too. I had a friend that bought a new General back around 1980 or '81, and it had at least a 72" standup walk-in sleeper. Maybe a little bigger, but I can't remember it's actual dimensions. It was a really nice rig dressed out in black. I drove a General his dad had but it only had a crawl thru 36" sleeper. Not the greatest and not anywhere near as nice as the 72" standup walk-in.
