[WIP] Eager Beaver 50 GSL/BR

#1 Post by Smarty » 05 Oct 2016 05:01

Seeing as the Phantom is nearing release, here's a look at my next trailer project – a late model Eager Beaver 50 GSL/BR. It's a 50-ton hydraulic detachable gooseneck with a beavertail.

I actually started it last year when I was wrapping up the PTTM release of the Phantom, but it fell on the backburner once I started pushing the Scot. As you can see, there's still a fair amount of modeling left to go, despite it already being in Blender. I'm trying to force myself to get more comfortable using Blender for modeling. Also, there are some materials/textures I need to test before I get too far into it — especially the mesh between the main beams.

Here are some earlier detail shots:

I think this trailer would have those orange lights in the rear as LED strobes, instead of beacons.

(now, how to simulate them correctly in-game is another thing all together)

Yup, Aradeth is right. If you look closely between the ramp hinge in the first detail shot, you can see them on the tailboard. And yeah, getting flare hookups to flash authentically will probably be tricky.
