SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

room217au: The template can be found on my site, here. As for your last issue, you're using the wrong package. In my workshop releases, the latest version is always named the same as the mod's id, with no suffices. The one you're using is for 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 — not 1.6.2.

Boeing73FLY: If you can replicate it without physics mods, I'll have a look. Otherwise, there probably isn't much I can do.

Okay, I did more testing with a profile with only with the trailer mod loaded. Confirmed: The dolly spazzes regardless of cargo weight and braking intensity. It stops when the brakes are released.

I'm guessing that room217au is running the ATS 1.6 beta?

@Boeing73FLY, @Smarty: Its due to the fact that there's no weight on the dolly.

Code: Select all

cargo_mass_ratio: 3
	cargo_mass_ratio[0]: 0.5 <-- trailer 1
	cargo_mass_ratio[1]: 0 <-- dolly
	cargo_mass_ratio[2]: 0.5 <-- trailer 2
	cog_offset: 3
	cog_offset[0]: (0.0, 0.67, -0.2)
	cog_offset[1]: (0.0, 0.0, 0.0)
	cog_offset[2]: (0.0, 0.67, -0.2)
What would be helpful is if the dolly's mass ratio was like 0.2, and the other two trailers are 0.4 each.

Wouldn't slightly increasing the weight in the dolly chassis.sii help too, to keep the cargo masses on the two trailers only?

The dolly has a mass of 1395kg, which is 3075lbs. The trailers are 13,500lbs for the 28' and 40'. I would figure that the 40' trailer would weigh more than the 28', probably something like 19,285lbs. You do need to have a bit of the weight ratio defined for the dolly too, otherwise you might have problems with a zero ratio.

In this case of weights:
Trailer 13,500
Dolly 3,075
Trailer 13,500

Your ratios would look like this:
Trailer 0.45
Dolly 0.10
Trailer 0.45

The dolly has its own mass, and should have the kingpin force from the second trailer, so saying there's no weight on it is inaccurate. More likely, this is an issue with Bullet having issues with large forces on relatively light objects (still more stable than Havok, so that's something  ) or a fundamental issue with how forces are distributed among multipivot trailers.

I managed to get it to act up with the heaviest cargo; kind of weird that I didn't notice it before (Seriously, I've been using this thing non-stop for weeks). I'll futz around and see if there's a temporary/hacky solution but really the mass distribution as I have it is 'physically correct'. All I can say for now is avoid the heaviest (and maybe the lightest?) cargoes on the doubles. Womp womp.

Uh oh! :? :? :?

Noticed this at the Wallbert in Phoenix. I didn't try hooking up to this one fearing the physics glitching out.

Fun side-note, the jittery dolly wheels issue with the brakes doesn't happen when only applying the trailer brakes. Bugs are fun.

Well, it didn't affect my driving experience so far. I think SCS may do something about it if they have the same issue with their doubles before they release the next patch.

EDIT: Tried the hotfix you just put through Steam. Whatever you did, it solved that jittering bug. Thank you!
