no speed limits on the winding road [FIXED]

#1 Post by Pasterz90 » 11 Apr 2016 19:11

Please enter the 30 or 35 mph limit for this winding road because I do not see the point to go 55 mph.

QA [25099].

In my opinion this part of a road is really to slow to let the trucks (with or without toweling trailer) goes 55mph there.

Thanks for your report.

Here in the Ozarks, there are plenty of winding roads that would keep a truck at 35MPH, but the speed limit remains 55. Often, there are yellow signs with recommended speeds in these areas.

In my point of view, there is no reason to decrease speed limit. As you can see, it is great road to practice driving =) I met few cop cars. If there was lower speed limit I would receive fines.

Now seriously. I really cannot see any reason to decrease it.

I see roads like this all the time. Just because you see a speed limit doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea to be driving at that speed, that's why it's called a limit.

this game really need to post the truck limit on signs and post yellow advisory speed limit signs for corners and highway ramps
I'm on a mission to ensure the city of Pittsburgh is accurately represented in ATS.

And just to prove my point, I invite you to watch this video, starting at 47:10 (I tried to use the embedded YouTube thing, but it won't work if you set a starting point to the video). Speed limit is 55 on this road. Does that mean I should be doing 55 here? No. If I tried that, I'd be off the road pretty quick and would quite likely find myself jobless pretty fast.

I agree with you in all the points. In that point of view, taking speed limit as a speed "you must go" I just wanted to show that even if there is "high" speed limit, you can reach it or go above, stay at road and not be punished. IRL I would be driving carefully there.
