Description

This mod has been bringing more immersion to common sounds in the game for over 10 years!

It packs a variety of sound content within one mod, making it great value within the 100 mod limit in Convoy multiplayer.

Compatibility

• ETS2 1.57.2 + ATS 1.57.2. No errors in game log. Must have high priority in Mod Manager.
• Does not replace individual player truck sounds, so this mod can be used with an unlimited amount of truck sound mods of your choice.
• Compatible with all maps and all trucks, including truck mods.
• Supported in single-player and multiplayer Convoy mode, and is marked as an optional mod in Convoy.

Minimum requirements

Requires higher priority in Mod Manager than:

• any rain sound mods
• any AI traffic related mods
• any map mods (e.g. ProMods)

Feature list

The mod features meticulously crafted sounds, covering the following:

1. Suspension and tire bump sounds for your truck and trailer.
2. Fuel / filling station sounds.
3. Door close and seatbelt sounds after refueling.
4. Train sound enhancements for several locomotives and railroad cars.
5. Country/state specific railroad crossing bell sounds.
6. The most complete tire sound package for all terrains: asphalt, gravel, grass, snow, and sleeper lines.
7. Wet tire sound for the player's truck tires when the asphalt roads are wet.
8. Reworked tire screech/skid sound effects.
9. Nokia phone ringtone sound replacing the hurry up / late music, leading to less stress for the player.
10. Default common sound reworks, such as improved default air brake sounds.
11. AI traffic vehicle sound improvements, with engine and horn sounds uniquely set for hundreds of specific vehicles.
12. (ETS2 only) Several countries supported with local police siren sounds.
13. English AU/UK/US voice navigation variants with speaker effect added and uncustomary phrases removed.
14. Wind buffeting and rush of air sounds at high speeds only when the window is open.
15. More environmental and ambient sounds, and tasteful changes to existing ambient sounds in the game world.
16. Trailer coupling, trailer brace rotation, and trailer sliding axle sounds.
17. 6 standalone air horns.
18. Dynamic rain sounds, and an assortment of different thunder sounds with delay.
19. Default gear grinding sound effect additions and improvements.
20. Enhanced reverb zones, including stronger reverb when under bridges and overpasses.
21. (ATS only) Drawbridge lift warning sound for the Columbia River Interstate Bridge.
22. (ATS only) Working sounds for the Musical Road on the Historic Route 66.
23. (Optional) Reefer / refrigerated trailer sound functionality.
24. (Optional - ATS only) Cop scouting reports via CB radio (enable in voice navigation options).
25. Fixes for World Ambient sound glitches from the vanilla game and/or mods.
26. A couple of UI sound replacements in the Driving Academy module.

For further immersion, the mod may also include official paint colors and more authentic specifications for each AI traffic vehicle it modifies for sound. Rarer paint colors are less likely to be seen.

If you like quick and easy automatic updates and a 'safe mode' to protect from incompatibility with future game updates, the Steam Workshop edition of the mod is highly recommended.

If there is a situation that six months elapse without any communication posted by me and without any new mod updates by me, I allow anybody to pick up the work to maintain the mod's compatibility and publish it.

Thank you. I am using the ETS 2 version which makes a big difference. This is very welcome.

When changing gears without clutch, not trying to float gears, I don't get any grinding noises. I'm intentionally trying to grind gears but don't hear the sound. Is this intended?

It's not intended, but I think it's a limitation of the game engine. I'm sure it only plays when there is damage to your transmission (check Diagnostics). In real life, grinding the gears would cause damage to the transmission, but in this game you would have to crash your truck to cause damage to your transmission.

I've tried grinding the gears on my mouse and keyboard setup (sequential) and it only plays the grinding sound when I have crashed my truck badly (unfortunately). Depending on how badly you crashed your truck, you can lose some of the higher gears and you can get more gears to grind when shifting it (even if you shift it perfectly).

Edit: Considering you have a clutch setup I don't see why it wouldn't grind. Are there any errors in the game log?

I don't get any errors in the game. When I disable the mod, the default grinding sounds are back. No big deal. I'm happy with all the other sounds I this mod

@Dpierres Are you using any other truck sound mods currently? Maybe they define the default volume for the gear grind and I should make the volume match theirs.

@Mr.GermanTruck Thanks for doing the review! Loved that you heard the train and helicopter sounds too. I added it into the original post.

Yes I am using other sound mods. I will disable all mods but yours when I get home and see if there's a change.
