SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Thank you for your tireless efforts to make great sounds for these 2 games. Your work is outstanding and appreciated.

To reiterate what Flight said, it’s really disappointing SCS can’t or won’t put forth the effort to make quality precise engine sounds. They have the capability and recorded trucks in person and touted Fmod like it was gonna be revolutionary to improve truck/game sounds. And what do they do with it... nothing... just port over the already crappy sounds and make them even worse. I’m surprised they FINALLY got rid of those lame air gear sounds for 1.39.

how, pray tell, should they record new sounds if nobody, and i mean literally nobody, wants to be in the US right now? with all the sh*t that is going on now better sounds are way back down on the priority list

Well, but then it would be better to stay with the "old" sound system which was used in 1.38 until they can record new sounds and not publish something semi finished in 1.39 and break everything. And with everything I really mean everything. I was really excited about the new trailers in both games but trucks without sounds are not my taste, sorry.

all people screamed for stupid openable windows, now they got them, and with this FMod was needed, a piece of software that is superior to the old outdated OpenAL, and the old sound system wouldnt have done anything, because the same sound samples are used OpenAL or FMod dont make them better, they would sound like crap with both because the only thing they do is play them, not generate them

@xXCARL1992Xx You didn't got my point. With "old" I mean the FMod version in 1.38. It wasn't perfect but with sounds from Kriechbaum it was quite a good experience. Now as sounds are attached to truck parts if I remember correctly everything has to be redone and I'm afraid that we now need for each truck mod a sound mod as parts vary... so in my opinion it would be better if SCS first get high quality sound samples and then introduce this brand new system which we get in 1.39.

you didnt get my point, the FMod in 1.39 didnt change anything, it still works like in 1.38, they even needed to update simply because they found a bug Fmod devs had to fix (radio crashes the game was it i think), the only change that was made is how the sounds are linked wich is purely def edits, and the one new event for turbo because people wanted a turbo slider to make it quieter or mute it, there is nothing that needs to be done from scratch, people who dont know anything shouldnt spread this nonsense (dont mean you with it, it was started on another end)

also, why pepole want this garbage openAL back ? if they start when they have better sample it would still take years until modders understood how to use it, now modder can work with FMod and learn so that the moment SCS can get new samples they already have all the knowledge needed

I don't want any "garbage" back as I have no clue about this stuff. The only thing I want is working and good sounds.
