So, I'm getting a thumping sound between gears with the N14 and using my own transmission which has no sound.
Mr. Kreichbaum, N14's don't make thumping sounds by themselves, can this be fixed?

This has nothing to see with the transmission, it's the turbo's sound after an engine load that makes that sound when you change a gear.

@kriechbaum All I hear is the straight pipes and over use of the jake.
In all my years driving N. American trucks I've never heard a turbo do anything but whistle.

The sound is the release of the pressure from the turbo when you step off the throttle.
What you hear is the waste gate opening. The waste gate controls the presure in the turbo. There are two types external between turbo and intake manifold and internal between turbo and exsaust manifold.
If the turbo has an internal waste you hear nothing because when it is open, the exaust fumes just bypass the turbo and go directly to the exaust.
If it has the external type "this is the sound in the mod". Is the adrupt release of the pressure in the intake manifold directly in the open air. The

I guess all I've ever driven is the internal type. I've always assumed the turbo is connected to the exhaust. Old dogs are not good with learning new tricks. ;)

@Trucker_71 what gandalf said is exactly what your hearing is the release of the turbo wastegate releasing pressure. External style wastegates are more noticable as the pressure is vented into the atmosphere while internal are plumbed back through the manifold. You can hear internal wastegates release pressure through sound but really having to be snappy on and off the throttle under load for it to happen unlike external wastegates.

Caterpillar motors from my experience driving are really noticable in this regardless of wether the exhaust is stock with mufflers or open piped at least with 3406e's, C15/16's engines anyway. At my old job doing container work before I gave up driving there was a company that had a few Kenworths with C15's & 6inch open pipes on them and when they changed gear's there wastegates sounded like V8 Scania's used to trip the shit out of me and you could hear them from 2-3 kilometers away lol.

Hello, thanks for the work, the motors sound good.

- but why do the switching noises disappear from the original game as soon as a motor sound mod is installed.
In the mods there is no switching noise that sounds almost as it should or the SCS original.

The problem is here in the ATS as well as in ETS2.

best regards - Mike

Hi Kriechbaum, could you also make this compatible with Harven's latest International which could be found on the Steam Workshop?
