Maybe it has something to do with the new generation of automatics, like I-Shift or such. I've never driven any of those so I can't say. I've seen videos of guys in automatics, the thump isn't there (audible).
In the game I'm using the N14 with an 18 speed, there should be no sound other than the engine when you shift. I've tried disabling some files but no luck so far.

@Trucker_71 Are you using any other sound mod besides this one? (for example Sound Fixes pack?)

Also, which truck are you using made for the pack? Looking at how Kriechbaum made the mod, almost no one should have sounds specifically made for the transmissions because he simply didn´t add the transmission folder to def/vehicle/truck/whatevertruck

@LAFAYET47 I don't have any other sound mods and I happened to be using the Western Star which actually does have a transmission folder.

@Trucker_71Then go to def/vehicle/truck/western.star49x/transmission and do the following:

1. Delete the air_gear.soundref file
2. Open the sound_dt.sui file with a text editor and leave it like this:

	sounds[]: "retarder|/sound/truck/default/retarder.soundref"
	sounds[]: "gear_grind|/sound/truck/default/effects_gear_grind.soundref"

As I understand it, European truck manual/automated transmissions and their NA-market derivatives do make a noise when shifting - I gather they're air-operated and NA-designed transmissions aren't.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but there's no sounds for Detroit Diesel DD15 in Cascadia and Western Star. Dd13 is fine. Anyone have similar issue?

I think the Eaton Endurant/Paccar Automated do the sound, but it's mostly because they switched to a fully Automated design instead of the more classical adaptation they did for the Ultrashift
