I just finally got to download this 1.41 public version. In polished form, this is the sound of beauty. Welcome back N14. No weaknesses in this sound. I freakin' love the sound of this truck. I play so much longer with a good sounding truck. I typically try to do shorter routes but this sound make me go even further. Once my run is over, its a little sad, lol. I can only do 1-2 runs within a 2 hr window before other task need my attention for the day. Then I can jump back on later and do another run. But this N14 is awesome. Too many great sounds in this mod pack. Cummins 444, 3406e, X15, Signature and the Detroit's all sound good and all are my favorites. I don't own a Volvo but as soon as we get the new one, this D13 will be in it. I don't drive my Mack often either but the MP8 is another great sound But this N14 has always been my favorite. I used the others until this one came back and man what a joy to have.

Pre Fmod i'd just edit the sound myself to remove it or dumb it down but i'm unable to open it to edit it now.

Yeah, it is a bit tricky.
You can always wind down the window which will mask that gear change further..

Well, I have to agree with @Wrighty, in real life there is no thumping sound between shifts on a north American truck. Maybe this is something unique to European trucks, I don't know, I've never driven a European truck but I've driven hundreds of North American trucks since the 60's. When you shift, if you do it right, there is only silence except for the engine.
If someone could point out the file responsible for this sound, I'd really appreciate it so that I can disable it. Other than that the N14 sounds great. Thank you @kriechbaum.

Ok... that "thumping" sound can be nice, but like you said (with knowledge) is not real for old American Trucks. What about the new ones, like american truck that uses new paccar engines? (i'm asking cause i have no idea at all)
