Yes, but not the efficiency engines... They seem to sound different (and have different shifting points). The mod can be used for the efficiency engines right now, but the shifting points change, too.

Gotcha. I don't care much about efficiency though. I want loud gas drinkers, lol. That's what keep me playing ATS long hrs. I want to hear my truck roar down the road. I'm not into purring kittens, lol. I think this is Kriech's approach too....to get that aggressive truck. I can literally just sit and watch his youtube video once a day with all the different truck sounds he packed into this mod. They all sound good.

@flight50 Each his own! :D Years ago I would have gone probably for louder engines, too. So I can really understand that approach. I am just wondering, why replacing the engine sound changes the automatic shifting points (and not for the better in my opinion; and not with all engines and transmissions)?

And going for fuel efficiency is absolutely unnecessary in this game, but I just can't help... (maybe a second nature thing, old habit or something)... ;)

Thank you for your good work!
But the new Volvo D13 sound doesn't seem to work on my game, and when I open the file, I couldn't find the def files for D13 engines in the "def\vehicle\truck\volvo.vnl\engine\" folder.
I'm wondering if there is any missing files for this?

@flight50 as someone who drives a x15 efficiency series, it's not a purring engine. They're similar but the x15 efficiency series does sound way different. It has a quite noticeable roar at higher rpms. They just sound different. Gives options as most day cabs that are cummins powered, have the x15. Example being the LT, and some of the paccar trucks. The roar depends on exhaust setup. Most modern trucks have the exhaust muffled so they don't get too noisy.
@calumwl there's no missing files. The vnl sounds replaces the original scs sounds. So in order for it to work, you need to put all of the original sound.sui in the engines folder,, and the ref files in the def/vehicle/truck directory. Then you need to add the @include "sound.sui" in the engine defs you wish to use. Without any of the following, it won't work.

@Kw900 you mean MOST of the PACCAR trucks :p

PACCAR engine are not that popular for both Kenworth and Peterbilt, unlike other Daimler and Volvo who managed to successfully push their own offerings instead

@rookie_one yes most lol. I was mainly counting the cummins as the paccar isn't the best engine lol. I've heard the newer ones are better but I wouldn't know.
