Just want to say those Jakes on the new C15 are some of the best I have heard for ATS yet. You have that smooth transition, that exhaust clatter sound that deepness, a great turbo whine and even when coming to a stop it slows down quite a bit. Sounds perfect to me. I also love the old Cummins 444 engine, but I think its time down the road to get that Jake updated to your new standard. Thanks again!

The game crashes when you try to change engine, when this mod is in. 1.42 Open Beta (and also a vehicle (bus) mod also crashed too, because i wanted to try all the mods out i use lol)

1.42 ob just came out. Kriech has to update it. SCS said this on the blog that modders will need to review their mods.

I love your work! trucks sound great! I am a big Detroit Diesel two stroke fan. your *8V92 sounds are wonderful, adds so much to my enjoyment of the game I recently learned enough to modify engine mod settings and had success modifying your 8V92 435 HP engine. my question is:
Why does the info for the engine say 1684 NM but the actual torque setting is 2200 NM? did you make a mistake or is this accurate? were you trying to get the engine to perform more like real life and the factory torque was inaccurate or the game numbers need to be adjusted to more accurately represent real life? I am tempted to adjust the torque but I expect you did it for a reason since you know way more about these things than I do.

An air starter is something easy to do and fast.
If you really want this, i can make it as a separated mod. Just have to enable it above the sound mod :)
yes please. I would use this all the time

@Nerf Commando The torque curve and peak torque are both inaccurate and way too torquey. The engine as defined in your screenshot makes 474 HP @ 1500 RPM (way too much, should only be 350 at this RPM), peaks at 489 HP @ 1800 RPM (too soon), and then starts losing power. By 2100 RPM it's down to 447 HP - which is still a bit too high. The real thing should make ever increasing power all the way to the governor @ 2100 RPM (and beyond, if tampered with...)

This should be a decent starting point:

Code: Select all

	name: "Detroit Diesel 8V-92TA 435"
	price: 17000
	unlock: 0

	info[]: "435 @@hp@@ (324 @@kw@@)"
	info[]: "1@@dg@@242 @@lb_ft@@ (1@@dg@@684@@ nm@@)"
	info[]: "1@@dg@@400 @@rpm@@"
	icon: "kriechbaum/eng_8v92"

	torque: 1684
	volume:	12.1

	torque_curve[]: (300, 0.5)
	torque_curve[]: (800, 0.835)
	torque_curve[]: (1200, 0.982)
	torque_curve[]: (1300, 0.995)
	torque_curve[]: (1400, 1)
	torque_curve[]: (1500, 0.995)
	torque_curve[]: (1600, 0.982)
	torque_curve[]: (1700, 0.966)
	torque_curve[]: (1800, 0.950)
	torque_curve[]: (1900, 0.926)
	torque_curve[]: (2000, 0.906)
	torque_curve[]: (2100, 0.876)
	torque_curve[]: (2200, 0.836)

	rpm_idle: 700
	rpm_limit: 2150
	rpm_limit_neutral: 2100
	rpm_range_low_gear: (1000, 1700)
	rpm_range_high_gear: (1400, 1700)
	rpm_range_power: (2000, 2100)
	rpm_range_engine_brake: (1500, 2100)

	engine_brake: 1.8
	engine_brake_downshift: 1
	engine_brake_positions: 2

	consumption_coef: 1.15
	adblue_consumption: 0.0
	no_adblue_power_limit: 1.0
Torque curve between 1200 and 2100 RPM based on this. The value at 800 RPM is the clutch engagement torque and I can't remember where I got that from...
