Crash on Linux on loading save game from ingame

#1 Post by Krejzi » 08 Aug 2016 19:31

I'm running ETS2 1.24.4.3s 64 bit on Linux using Steam. The game crashes when I try to load the game from an already running session. Doesn't happen when I load the game from the main screen. The profile is new, I haven't even driven 500 km, no mods enabled or have ever been enabled on this install. I usually game on Windows.

The game crashes with Signal 7 (SIGBUS), and only thing that journalctl (from systemd) shows is

Aug 08 21:14:28 krejzi systemd-coredump[10475]: Process 10399 (eurotrucks2) of user 1000 dumped core.

Stack trace of thread 10399:
#0 0x00007f1943cf85f6 __memcpy_avx_unaligned (libc.so.6)
#1 0x000000000091035b n/a (eurotrucks2)

The C library was compiled with Intel Skylake instructions enabled (-march=skylake).

Could you please send us the .dmp file and the save game? Ideally, just zip the content of ~/.local/share/Eurotruck Simulator 2 and send it to linux@scssoft.com, so that we can have a look. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the reply. Apparently, it seems to be a graphics issue. Intel Skylake Graphics is still unstable. Using unstable kernels makes the game crash less. So, not ETS2 bug.
