Police Interceptor tailights with LOD/LOD2 [FIXED]

#1 Post by Smarty » 22 Jun 2016 19:31

The colour of the new police car's (Ford Taurus) taillights shifts drastically from red to white/pink when the lod2 model is shown. To reproduce the issue, drive behind the new police car at night and allow the distance to increase. When the model changes from the detail model to either lod or lod2, there is a very noticeable change in saturation/brightness. I suspect this also affects the non-police Taurus.

I had a quick look in Blender and it appears that the entirety of the lightmask uv mapping for the light mesh in the two lod models is done on the tile corresponding to the front right of the vehicle. See below:

With the Lamp UV tool, this should be a <5 minute fix. ;)

I noticed this as well. It also seems like they incorrectly made the DRLs in the front bumper act as turn signals.

Well, technically, if they were trying to be realistic they wouldn't use that type of car anyway, unless of course, they were thinking that police departments still have old squad cars. Most police departments in the western US use these now days, if they can afford them...

The Ford Police Utility Cruiser, which typically run about $250,000.00 each, if they're fully equipped.

Yeah... Cops have a full computer system in their car, and they have been seen using them while driving, yet a cop came up to me the other day and give me a warning ticket for stopping on the side of the road and making a call on my cell phone without turning my car off and taking the keys out of the ignition. So what the heck is that, Distracted Parking?

Who in the heck came up with that law?

I bet that could get thrown out in court easily.

I didn't know — I don't have access to the QA system as I'm neither a beta tester nor staff. I'm open to change though.

We have the same law in the UK.

Basically if the engine is running, you are in control of that motor vehicle regardless of whether you are stationary or not. If you need to use the phone, you MUST turn the engine off.
