The excavator cargo model for the lowboy trailer has the bucket more or less correctly oriented for transport, but the connected cylinder, linkage and even the hinge plates are still oriented as if the bucket was in the 'grand old duke of York' position (nether extended nor retracted).

also.. it looks as if those dogs (the red crank devices) are in the open or unlocked position. To create tension on the chains to secure the load, those handles need to be swung to the lock position which is parallel with the chain.
If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.

If you can get one of this paralell to the chain you must be superman . To release or tighten the chain you need to switch a small lever, then you can crank it.

These are the chains which are used in game, so no bug.

It depends on the make of the dog though it's easy to click 'em closed by using an alloy/stel pipe about 900mm long and pull that sucker down.
When you got 100ton sittin' on that bed you WANT that chain tight.
In all my years steering, I've never seen a dog look like one in the above image(s). That's not to say they don't exist, but it just looked odd to me.
[edit] That image took a long time to load. I had written my response beforehand, but left it anyway.
Like I said, it is not to say they don't exist.
Thanks for your info.
