Opening map from game menu

Bug is reproduced always on latest Steam version on a new profile without mods.

1. Launch game, go into free roam.
2. Press Esc to go into game menu.
3. (I have XBox360 gamepad with "World map" hotkey bound to "Start" button).
Press Start on gamepad.
This step can be done using keyboard by pressing "Esc" and "M"(world map) simultaneously.

After this steps game looks like this:

After pressing Esc again two times game looks like this:

[ external image ]
and stops responding to any actions.

This can be reproduced in ATS as well, should i post it in ATS subforum?

Ok Misread.
Pressing "Esc" and "World Map" key does produce this odd result.
As far as I know, it says nowhere in any documentation, electronic or otherwise, that you need to press "Esc" and "World Map" key to see the world map.
Most people would never do this. And let's face it, why?

Which is most likely the reason it was not spotted before.
Probably not a biggie, but certainly an error worth trapping.

Any other "Esc + combination" exist?

As John Carmack said about Microsoft optimising game code for RAGE - "How the *** were we to know that the player would want to switch weapons.. while backflipping over a cliff-edge.. and pressing "Team Chat" .. all at the same time?"

That doesn't add up to a well written tutorial in my book. To "Free Roam" you need to have your own truck, and not be hauling a trailer. Which you obviously can not do with a quick job. Whoever wrote that, if that is actually what they wrote, was misinformed at best.

That's what I thought at first, but even starting a new profile, skipping tutorial, and going straight to your first Quick Job, then pressing Esc and M together, produces exactly what the OP shows in pictures.

Well, then perhaps it is a bug, and he should post about it in the ATS forum as well? As far as I knew that was not possible. But it surely wouldn't be the first time I was misinformed either!

The thing is i have "show map" action bound to gamepad "start" buttton and when i drive i press start to open map, then press start to close map. Everything is fine. But if i open game menu via "Esc" and then forget about it and try to close game menu using "start" button, i get this result. I can live with it, not big deal. I just thought it is worth reporting.

Probably any hotkey bringing you back to game desktop (didn't check that though): Audio Player, Garage Manager.
I wander what will happen if you have two keys assigned to Menu option and you press them (probably the same though)?...
