Norwegian radio streams outdated

#1 Post by Gazer75 » 12 Mar 2017 10:51

All of the non NRK streams use outdated links, and a couple no longer exist.

Below is a list with updated working links. Added a few new ones.
Note that radio channels from Bauer Media may be geoblocked and thus not work with IPs outside Norway.

Not sure what you mean by that link SiSL. That website have a very limited list of radio stations from Norway.

Looks like they didn't update the radio list after all. Getting a list from internet actually reverted the radio links back to old and outdated ones.

Another annoying thing is that we have to use the Python UTF8 strings to get letters outside the normal A-Z when naming stations.
Why not just encode the file in UTF-8 and have the game capable of reading that properly?

Fun when a station like the ESKA Bełchatów is named "ESKA Be\xc5\x82chat\xc3\xb3w" in the list. You really have to be careful to get the strings right.
How about the russian stations with cryllic names. Do "\xd0\x9d\xd0\xb0\xd1\x88\xd0\xb5 \xd0\xa0\xd0\xb0\xd0\xb4\xd0\xb8\xd0\xbe" look readable to anyone, even Russians?

At least one can use http://unicode.scarfboy.com to get it right. Just type the name in the box and look at the line showing the UTF-8 string for Python.
