Dark Trailers

I just took a set of Doubles from Sunshine Crops in Winnemucca, Nevada. It was 23:56, or 11:56 PM. While pulling out of the depot, I noticed that whatever side of the trailer was facing South, was so dark in color, that you can barely see the detailing on it. I did a U-Turn to see if it was that side of the trailer, or the direction it was facing, and the darkness moved around the trailer, making any side facing South really dark still. There are no Streetlamps or other light sources nearby, including my own headlights, which I turned off, along with my running lights. The chrome trim still acts like there is normal light, and there is nothing wrong with it, however, the decals and design of the actual side panel are what is darkened.

I don't know if the South is to dark, or the North is too light, but it seems imbalanced, especially since I see no Moon for an extraterrestrial light source.
