Undiscovered roads and prefabs [51178]
I'm still trying to get 100% map coverage but I'm still stuck at 99,99%.
I know that on the map there are some pieces that can not be discovered because they are on rooftops of gas stations. I also know that those pieces are not count in for the 100% map coverage.
So, there have to be other undiscovered pieces of roads and/or prefabs that I didn't discover yet. But as some pieces can be very tiny it's almost impossible to see those tiny pieces on the map: some of those pieces may be blocked by company icons and icons for gasstations, reststops, etc.
So I decided to create a mod that does the following:
- All discovered roads and prefabs have a dark grey color
- All undiscovered roads and prefabs have a bright green color
- All icons are invisible
When I loaded the mod I discovered a tiny piece of road in Oxnard. I actually had to drive against a dead end road block (XXXXX) to get that piece of road discovered.
I then checked the whole map for other tiny undiscovered pieces of roads and prefabs. The only undiscovered pieces are in New Mexico. Most of those pieces are on rooftops of gas stations. See screenshots below.
Central New Mexico South New Mexico North-East New Mexico I'm especially curious about the two undiscovered pieces of Central New Mexico (first screenshot). Those pieces look different than the 'standard' rooftop pieces of the other two screenshots. Can someone confirm that those pieces of Central New Mexico are in fact also just rooftops? I've driven on that pieces a few times but they still remain bright green.
So, what next? As I'm still at 99,99% there has to be one or more undiscovered pieces of road or prefabs that I can not discover on the map. Is there another way to know which pieces are undiscovered?
I mean, the pieces that I have discovered are somehow stored into my profile, I think? And every piece of road or prefab has a unique name, I think. Is there a way to get a list of the name and location of all the pieces that are not yet discovered? Is it possible to create a mod for that?
Has anyone another idea how to find the undiscovered pieces?
By the way, the mod I created (Undiscovered Roads for ATS) can be found at: https://www.modland.net/american-truck- ... r-ats.html
The screenshot of that mod shows the then undiscovered piece of road in Oxnard.
@moderator: can this topic be moved to "Technical problems"? I think this topic might be in the wrong subforum.
As far as I can tell there are 14 undiscovered pieces of roads/prefabs I can see but I can not drive on. And they can all be found in New Mexico:
Farmington: 1x roof on repair shop
Gallup: 1x roof on repair shop
Tucumcari: 1x roof on gas station
Socorro: 1x roof on repair shop
Alamogordo: 3x roof on gas station
Las Cruces: 1x roof on repair shop
Roswell: 1x roof on repair shop
I-40 between Albuquerque and Tucumcari : 2x roof on gas station / repair shop
I-10 between San Simon and Las Cruces: 1x roof on gas station
Crossing US-285 and US-54: 1x roof on gas station
Crossing US-380 and US-54: 1x roof on gas station
Is it possible that those 14 pieces of undiscovered roads/prefabs are responsible for the 0.01% of roads/prefabs I've not driven on? How can I get 100% map coverage if those undiscovered pieces are on places I can not drive on?

Re: Undiscovered roads and prefabs
Some of those, i reported myself in the testing build and is under fix process already. (Both on first PIC i'm sure it's solved)
If you could give me the coords for the other spots, it will be my pleasure to forward them to the devs
EDIT:
About how to discover the undiscovarable spots? Just use F9 to place your truck in the roof tops

Re: Undiscovered roads and prefabs
I've enabled developer mode, but I don't know how to move the camera or truck. I've pressed '0' and when I try to use F9, the camera is on the ground under my truck. When I try to move the camera, or truck, I only can rotate the truck on the vertical axis. I can not move the camera in a similar way as in first person shooters with the so called 'noclip' cheat.
When I try to move the camera forward by pressing 'w' or 'arrow_up', the engine starts.
EDIT: I've figured it out. I have to use the numpad keys 4,5,6 and 8 to move horizontally and 3 and 9 to move vertically.
I've driven on the roof of the gas station, and indeed the undiscovered part did change to discovered!
So far so good. I can drive on the roof of gas stations to discover the undiscovered pieces. But I can not drive on the roof of repair shops. When I teleport my truck to the roof of a repair shop, my truck is falling onto the ground (in the repair shop)...

Reason: [2.6] Do NOT double post, if you have made a post already and yours is still the last in that thread then edit your previous post.

Re: Undiscovered roads and prefabs
The ideal situtation would be to first mark the coords of those spots, this way devs can fix the problem.
I'll try to find them, but since you are on this problem if you can post here the coords please.
F11 -> enter description -> ENTER
They will be on a file called bugs.txt in root game folder on Documents

Re: Undiscovered roads and prefabs
I only have tried the roof of one gas station to check if it was possible to 'drive' on the undiscovered piece. I will post the coordinates of all undiscovered pieces including the one on the roof I just 'discovered'. After that I will drive on the roofs of the other gas stations so that only the pieces on the roofs of repair stations remain undiscovered.
Re: Undiscovered roads and prefabs
Ok, thanks.
Based on your coords i'll check them all and the ones not yet solved in internal builds will be reported for sure, thanks for the help!

Re: Undiscovered roads and prefabs
First of all: I drove on the roofs of some gas stations with undiscovered pieces and finally I've covered 100% of the map!
