But does the 6x2/2 in your link, turn when lowered then?

But my question still stands: Does the 6x2/2 in any of your link, turn when lowered then?
What I mean is that we are only talking about axles that turn, and the question in this topic is if a turning axle still turns or not when raised.

I think the "non-turn" in the name is a bit of a clue.

I was thinking the same, but then I wanted to make sure if he was aware of the real question in the topic, both to help him, but also to remove the confusion I have at the moment regarding all these variants.

So we do agree that:
6x2/4 means 1 powered axle and 2 turning axles and 6x2/2 means 1 powered axle and 1 turning axle?
Which mean that /? is the number of turning axles, just like the second number is the number of powered axles.. !?

When truck has 3 or more axles, these extra axles can be steerable and or liftable and or powered too.
Extra axle steering used to made with mechanical bars, just like normal front axle, but now are almost all(?!) extra axle steering made with electric-hydraulic, because it's safer (to prevent front main axle jamming), it don't need extra space for front to back bar (chassis can be lowered more) and it's easier to make extra axle to powered too.
Sorry my english, hope you understand.

Don't remember where I got this couple years ago, but this helped me with "new" naming order as I'm old and oldschool..
Wheel configuration
4x2: two-axle
4x4: two-axle, all-wheel drive
6x2: tri-axle, rigid tag axle
6x2/2: tri-axle, rigid pusher axle
6x2/4: tri-axle, steered pusher axle
6x2*4: tri-axle, steered tag axle
6x4: tri-axle, double drive axle
6x6: tri-axle, all-wheel drive
8x2: four-axle, double front axle, rigid tag axle
8x2/4: four-axle, steered pusher axle, rigid tag axle
8x2*6: four-axle, double front axle, steered tag axle
8x4: four-axle, double front axle, double drive axle
8x4*4: four-axle, double drive axle, steered tag axle
8x8: four-axle, all-wheel drive

If it is different on each truck, why don't you give a chance of selection to users?
Even if not now, giving an option will widen the choices.
Each variant is preferred to different users, and fixing into one point can frustrate some users.

6x2/4 isn't the name of chassis with 2 variable powerred axle? Like Renault optitrack, Man hydrodrive etc.
