@BullRot Yeah, I was actually recently looking at some shifter layouts. I want to implement these layouts:

And two default from ETS2 with range: 1-6 to 7-12 and splitter: 1,3,5,7,9,11 to 2,4,6,8,10,12

Thanks for letting me know that you will use the mouse's extra buttons to switch. I wasn't aware of them, but I'm not sure if input API supports these buttons because I use my own binding system, I will have to find out.

How are those extra buttons detected by the game? As Mouse Button or maybe extra controller?

pretty cool, altought this would be more usefull on ats than ets2 since most of the trucks are automatic (unless you are using a DAF or a mod)

@narvi98 This mod will also work with ats.

if you make it work with mouse/keyboard buttons for gear shifting, I'll stay extremely happy. great job

@mjhonnes Yeah, I have that in plans, it will also work with XInput (so Xbox controller or some clones)

I just thought of this last night, since not all transmissions are equal. Good to see that someone's making it!

This is definitely an interesting concept, but it leaves one question...
If the mouse is normally used to move the camera (or to steer, if you play with mouse steering), but you use a key to disable that and enable shifting, then why bother at all? If you have to press one key to enable it and another to disable it, why not just use those keys to shift up and down like default? Why have this extra step?
Also, what about steering? For those who use mouse steering, then they can only shift on a straight road.

@bobgrey1997 It is just a fun minigame to play with while driving. There will be a possibility to use keyboard buttons or gamepad buttons, so if you play on a mouse, you can always just use buttons.

Can't wait for this to come out, Do you know of anything similar to this to use temporarily? I can't find anything like this.
