[AI GENERIC] Ambulance looks update

#1 Post by Kraake » 12 Feb 2021 11:16

With gradual updates of our maps we would like to update our ambulance skins (paint scheme look) as well.

[ external image ]

We would like to know if is necessary to update some ambulances for each of our already released countries in ETS2.
  • Please, keep in mind we are interested in the STATE AMBULANCE car & look and in the CAPITAL CITY AMBULANCE car & look.
  • We know there are usually different regional (or private) ambulance services with unique color shemes. In this case we need to bend it and create universal color scheme for each country/capital city. We will add red ambulances, if the majority is red, etc.
  • Details we would like to get are stickers (logos, emblems, lines), writings & beacon light patterns for each country/capital city. Somewhere they have "AMBULANCE", somewhere "AMBULANZA", etc.
  • In case you can provide us images from front, boths sides & back - we will be more than happy.
  • HERE is a little overview of released countries & their capitals.
Thank you very much in advance! [ external image ]

Most Dutch ambulances are based on Mercedes Sprinter vans, such as:

Not a good time to be doing this for Poland as we've just recently entered a transitional period. Most ambulances are still white, but new legislation will require them to be painted yellow. As with everything in Poland, the transition will take years, currently slated to end in 2028.

Speaking for Germany it really depends on the city/district/state you live in but there are some things in common:
- Bodies mounted on the chassis by third party manufactures
[ external image ]

Signage/Stickers:
The words "Rettungswagen"(Ambulance) or "Rettungsdienst" (Ambulance service) are the most common words, paired with the operator's name e.g. "Feuerwehr" (fire service) or other services. but the operator's name can be left out as there are districts where this isn't displayed on the units. Also the call sign "112" is present on nearly all ambulances.
Example for an ambulance from Berlin operated by the Berlin fire department:

Example for an ambulance in federal state livery of Schlewig-Holstein since 2020

Most common is red and yellow reflective striping on the rear doors and white reflective stripes on the sides to mark the dimensions of the ambulance. As depicted in the images below:

Light patterns:
Most common are alternating hazard lights but recently newer ambulances are fitted with stroboscobic beacons with complex different flash patterns (see picture below)

Another recent trend shows intersection flashers mounted into the bumper or mirrors

I am not giving any sort of support, requests or Q&A through private messages, such messages will be ignored. Please use the appropriate topics, they are there for a reason.

In addition to Fenways post above.

The ambulance Services in the Netherlands mostly use vans like MB Sprinters.
Some more details on the markings:
Since 2019 Broad stripes are used, these are double as wide as the previous version of the marking.
on the sides the markings are different from each other: Red over Blue(left) and Blue over Red (right)

Front and left side:
-Asymmetric markings on the front.
- Red stripes over blue stripes.

Right side:

The Russian ambulances needs some changing. Here is what's wrong with how they currently look:
  • The writing "ЦЭМП" on the side are the initials of a specific organization in Moscow specializing in disaster medicine. There is absolutely no reason for a generic ambulance to have this writing, especially in any other city. It makes about as much sense as putting, for example, a NYPD police car in Las Vegas!
  • Likewise, the QR code on the side is a link to the website of a specific ambulance station in Moscow. Again, zero reason for a generic ambulance in any other city to have this QR code printed on it.
  • You have the front hood of the ambulance decorated with the blue Star of Life symbol, but most Russian ambulances use the Red Cross instead. Sometimes they may also have the Star of Life printed somewhere, but the main symbol is usually still the Red Cross.
  • A minor thing, but the writing "Скорая медицинская помощь" ("Ambulance") on the side is all lowercase. It should be uppercase.

P.S. Do you have plans for collecting research on non-emergency service vehicles - public transport, taxis, garbage trucks, delivery vans, etc.? I find them to be a lot more common on roads than ambulances and fire trucks.
