"curve" model doesn't show LOD

#1 Post by Reinhard » 21 Sep 2020 08:06

Curve model "/model2/vegetation/hedges/ivy/ivy_hanged.pmd" doesn't show its lod. It is configured to show it at a distance of 250 meters:

Code: Select all

curve_model : curve.blke38
{
	name: "ivy hanged curve1"
	model_desc: "/model2/vegetation/hedges/ivy/ivy_hanged.pmd"
	variation[]: "basic | Default1,Default2,Default3,Default4,Default2,Default3,Default1,Default4 : 1.0"

	dynamic_lod_desc[]: "/model2/vegetation/hedges/ivy/ivy_hanged_lod1.pmd"
	dynamic_lod_dist[]: 250
}
But at that distance, the base model simply vanishes, no lod shown.

This is a picture of the model in question, from very near:

Coordinates:

Code: Select all

curve model vanishes ;[21/09/2020 09:48] (sec+0010+0007);43942.5;20.5014;29716.4;2.46441;-0.139626
Log: https://pastebin.com/UhThnG51

No mods.

EDIT: To make it clear: the base model, in the map, is set to a 300 meter draw distance. I didn't confuse that with the 250 setting. If I set the distance to "FAR", while testing, it still vanishes at 250 meters.

Bump - I guess this slipped through...

BTW, has anybody trouble to see the picture? With Google Chrome, I don't see it. It worked okay when I posted it.

I went to previous postings of mine. Some embedded pictures from my own server I can see, others not. Same effect is on two different computers. If I call the picture URL directly, everything is okay. I have no problem displaying the embedded pictures with Firefox or Opera.

I had this with embedded pictures by others, too, lately. When I called the URL directly, it got displayed. Something is wrong. No idea if this is a Chrome issue, or if it could be forum issue.

The picture doesn't display for me in Chrome, but does if I open the image.
It shows cleanly in Edge, so it's browser specific (and interesting as Edge also uses Chromium).

A possible cause is that the image name has spaces in it. Try namign it without spaces and see what happens.

I replaced the blanks with underscores - no avail. :shock:

Edit: I also tried "incognito" mode, doesn't work. But the Zmodeler forum, also phpBB, displays it correct. Weird.

Weird it could be the stylesheet scs uses eg "wrong" properties on the image link

No opinion, I know nothing about stylesheets. I wouldn't have even mentioned the picture display problem, if I haven't seen similar problems by other people. Seems it isn't my server.

But now back to the bug report, "curve model doesn't show LOD". See first posting.
Don't get me wrong, every bump is welcome.

The picture problem was caused by Chrome, it now wants an SSL certificate, which I installed.

EDIT: The curve model bug seems to have been fixed in game update 1.40.
