Re: Minimising to desktop
The game minimising is not a game issue. It's caused by some other program on your machine stealing focus.
Check what other programs you have running.

Re: Minimising to desktop [NOT A BUG]
Arguably the game continuing to run whilst in the background is an issue. This is something that changed a couple of years ago and can be incredibly annoying. I appreciate that some folk like the new behaviour, especially those playing on multi-monitor setups, but I'd like to see an option to enable the game losing focus to force a drop to the in game desktop (ie. the equivalent of pressing Esc)
Cheers, Steve
Re: Minimising to desktop [NOT A BUG]
If I recall correctly, it was fine until 1.35. Ever since 1.36, the game wouldn’t pause by itself if minimised.
There’s a small trick to this though. In windows 10, I use Alt+Tab to change the windows, so I assigned Alt key to the “Load game” option so that the game would be paused to display the list of saved games (you have to be a bit slower on the alt key though). Assigning Alt key for the world map is also an alternative.

Re: Minimising to desktop [NOT A BUG]
When I _choose_ to switch away from the game it isn't a problem, I just use Esc to drop to the in game desktop before Alt-Tabbing out, it is when something else forcibly steals the focus that the fact that the game keeps on rolling along is a problem.
