Heavy frame drops

Try to desactivate game mode in win10.
I have reinstalled ATS. New profile. stutters with quickjob.

Desactivated HPET. Better but still some stutters.

And then, after desactivating game mode + -mm_pool_size 8192 on start parameters (I have 16go), smooth as butter.

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. Game mode in win10 I have default off. Same with HPET (I also turned it on to see if there were any changes, but to no result). I changed "pool size" on 8192 and that also had no effect. After changing "pool size" the task manager shows the same amount of RAM used (I'm sure I'm implementing it well because I used "no intro" for example and it works).

I am 99% sure that before version 1.40 there weren't such drastic slowdowns due to the range light visibility. Only this setting causes such problems.

Always reproduceable... definitely not noticeable if running dual RTX 3090s in SLI

When in a remote area framerate is stable at 35+, drops down under 20 when entering a city or turning on lights
& no, this isnt bad hardware, its a bug because the moment you enter a city or turn on lights, GPU and CPU usage drop heavily, which causes the framerate drop, when you leave a city, usage goes back up to normal
You can see in the picture gpu is sitting at 67% and cpu at 48%, this is only in a small town, in a city the usage drops below 50%
in previous versions my gpu utilization was at 100% and cpu at 60%, clearly something is very wrong here

@ancientfire I think you missed an important part of the process and that is the game.log.txt file. They will want that also. What are you using to get the GPU and CPU readout on your game screen. I would like to try it and see what mine says....

i use MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner Statistics Server [RTSS] for the readout (both are required)

so, im back after few days and lot of Test`s.......

on my Computer, both Games ETS2 and ATS running now like Hell, no Drops, full graphics ( High and Ultra ) on 4k with GTX 1060 6GB.

I mean, the Problem is Windows 10.

this was i got:

Take a empty HDD.....YES, HDD, and istalled Windows 10 Home 64bit complete new with all drivers ect.

The Steam with ETS 2 and ATS.

again, drops, drops, drops, specially at Night with all efeects.

ok, delete all Partitions and Install Windows 7 Home 64bit on the Same HDD.

Again, Steam with ETS 2 and ATS................Running like Hell, no minimal drop, nothing....WOW.
ok, does i see that correct ?

Again, delete Windows 7, reinstall Windows 10.

BOOOM, drop drop drop.

From me now:

SCS, im So sorry about this Discussion here, the Fail must be inside Windows 10.
Today i was Play ETS 2 on Windows 7 over lots of Hours, Daytime, Nighttime, inside and outside of Citys, got extra set the Traffic to 2 ( g_traffic 2.0 ).
constant 60 FPS on HDD, not SSD.

my Feedback is: Damn Windows 10

@MatzMan yea I didn't think of windows 10, now I remember that recently there was an update for windows 10 which screwed over lots of games (stutters, frame drops)
microsoft released a fix for this in a new windows 10 update, IDK your windows 10 version so you may have been using an older version that still had this issue

if you used the latest version, then its just the game's code that needs to be optimized for some systems on windows 10 - its not really windows 10's fault

most people dont notice these drops - because they have a high end gpu and locked the game to 60 fps, the drops will happen but it will always be atleast over 60fps
