Re: SCS Blog discussion
In this day and age of enormous bridges ..
More roads to explore and companies to deliver to is fine by me.
Also need to remember to not call a Sicilian an Italian and visa versa.

There are plans for a 5 km bridge over Messina strait, but they are still debating about it since 2006.

The problem with the bridge is the danger of earthquakes

Re: SCS Blog discussion
Around 1990 I saw a huge scale model of this bridge, part of an exhibition for architects, in my town. Looked impressing.
But when I visited Sicily in 2003 there was no bridge. I looked carefully.

Re: SCS Blog discussion
Akashi Kaikyo is also a long suspension bridge and also in a seismic zone. The problem with the bridge is the Italians because they are just some kind of Romanians who escaped the Soviet occupation. :B
I hope no Italian on this forum will hate me from now on.
