Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I hope we will see technology like this in conventional designs as well. I have been interested in the technology behind fuel cells and hydrogen for some time, as well as normal accu electricity. The problem is that designers seem to think that such technology requires a futuristic, often ugly design.
Would be very interisting to see a truck like this in the game. In the netherlands there are already busses driving on hydrogen, and I think there are a few Hyundai hydrogen trucks in Swiss, but I think they are all rigids. They don't look too bad, with the big grill covering the front instead of being a plain, flat box.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
if it is about aerodynamic Mercedes can just close of the grill so no air goes through if it cant go out at the back, no real need to remove it completely, wich looks ridiculous, like a person without a nose

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I wouldn't really mind if they get rid of the actual grill, just at least make put something there so it isn't a flat box. Maybe a few more lines to break the monotony or something. The Range T is a good example. It has a very small grill, but it uses other elements to break the front into several parts. Using multiple colours also helps with this.

Whoever approved publishing such an ugly snout? Fish mouth is a benign way to address it.
However the nose part, where the emblem is, reminds me of old MB trucks.
About the tech itself, hydro could be the way to go even compared to battery electric in long haul. BE may be better for regional, city, stop and go etc.

All brands seem committed to sabotage their own sales of "alternative" powered vehicles by making them ugly as hell . Even on a professional vehicle, where looks should not be a point to value, I can imagine truckers not going to drive that abomination to avoid be ashamed by other truckers.
Agree a lot in the Renault T example, Mic_2.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I think you are missing the point of most of logistics industry really does not care how it looks but how well it performs, how low cost it get etc. So if aero form helping fuel or "power" economy, it is welcome.
Considering truck drivers will cease to exist in one or two decades except amateur enthusiasts, looks really wont matter at all.

Aero forms does not matter as much as you might think driving at 100 kph
Convoys are more important
