Sometimes there are several ways to define the criteria for a record. Sometimes the criteria have to change due to new technical developments or methods. So it's not helpful to argue which criteria should be the right ones, as in the current contemplation of that record, one set of criteria was chosen and that's the one to go by. It simply doesn't matter which criteria you or you or you found somewhere. :)

There's something I noticed in the screenshots on the Lisbon blog that I also recall seeing in other parts of the ETS2 world. Some of the sound walls on the highways are actually transparent! Why is that? Are they made of glass or plastic? Looking around on Google Maps, I couldn't actually find a real example of these clear sound walls. Do they actually exist? Do they actually keep the sound out just as well as a stone or wood wall?

They are real. I haven't seen them next to motorway though. Usually close to homes. They're done to get some light behind.

In some cases they are even better than concrete ones.
They are polymer most of the time. And in most cases have a black predator bird decal on them to prevent actual birds from flying into them.
They are actually quite common in some countries.

it is pretty common here in Germany on bridges to have it, sadly you can throw google streetview into the trash for Germany, so finding an example will require to go trough thousands of kilometer of Autobahn, if you are lucky and they are mapped

Mapillary is somewhat decent for street view pics from Germany: https://www.mapillary.com/app/

That's pretty interesting! I've never seen a clear sound wall before, but seems like a pretty good idea. The bit about the bird shapes is a pretty smart idea too. I wonder if they exist somewhere in North America too.

@xXCARL1992Xx I've always found the lack of street view in Germany rather disappointing. I've found that Google Maps is the best resource for seeing what typical road designs and truck configurations in a particular area are like. I've looked around the Autobahns in Berlin and Hamburg on there, but the big cities usually aren't a true reflection of what a place is actually like.

thank the people who are scared someone could see their house and plan to mug them, disregarding the fact their houses were already visible 10 years before street view was a thing, i think that google got so much claims to cut out a building that they just said, screw it, why bother if 99% or Germany will be just white boxes anyway, and stopped doing it, i saw a streetview car twice in my town but not one of these pictures can be seen on GSV to this date

here an example
